Tequila, Snickers, and Truffle are going to be at PetSense in Laurinburg this Saturday from 12pm-3pm.

Tequila is a 3.5 month old husky mix and is the sweetest little girl around. She will be medium to large when fully grown and the last of her litter to find her forever home. Tequila is great with kids/cats/dogs and working well with leash/crate training!

Truffle is a 3 month old suspected basset hound mix and he is a playful little guy! He is one of Baker's puppies still looking for his forever home! He is good with kids/cats/dogs and working hard on potty training.

Snickers is a 3 month old suspected basset hound mix and is the smallest puppy that will be coming to the event. She is Truffle's sister and also Baker's puppy still looking for her forever home. She is good with kids/cats/dogs and is the sweetest cuddle bug you will meet.

Immediate placement needed!

Muffin was adopted from us last year. She recently found her way into another organizations care after we learned her adopters did not follow their contract and rehomed her. Shes now with another rescue and we are making full effort to get her back into our care.

She is 1.5yrs old.

She is described as follows:
She is a sweet, affectionate little girl who forms strong bonds with her people and loves to snuggle once she feels comfortable. Like many small dogs, Muffin can be a bit timid with new people and may act tough when she’s nervous, but underneath that big personality is a loving companion who just needs patience and understanding.

Muffin does well with children, though she would be happiest in a home with older kids who can respect her space. Toddlers can be a little overwhelming for her, and she may become reactive when she feels stressed.

She’s full of personality, loves attention, and will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her a chance and earn her trust.

Thankful Thursday 💜

This week, we’d like to recognize and thank our friends at Yes K9 for the incredible support they have provided to Jovie and her foster family.

If you’ve met Jovie, you know she is an amazing dog with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Like many dogs, she has had a few behavioral challenges to work through, including resource guarding her foster mom’s attention. While Jovie’s intentions come from a place of love and attachment, we knew she deserved the opportunity to learn healthier ways to manage those emotions.

That’s where Sean and the team at Yes K9 stepped in.

Over the past several weeks, they have worked alongside Jovie and her foster, helping build confidence, improve socialization skills, and teach effective redirection techniques. Their guidance has not only helped Jovie make tremendous progress but has also equipped her foster with the tools needed to continue setting her up for success.

We are excited to share that Jovie has been making incredible strides. She has been mastering obedience skills such as sit, down, stay, and loose-leash walking, while continuing to grow in her ability to manage her emotions and focus in challenging situations.

Partnerships like this are invaluable to rescue organizations. Sometimes a dog simply needs a little extra guidance, and having trusted professionals in our community who are willing to invest their time, knowledge, and support can make all the difference in helping a dog find and keep a successful forever home.

Jovie is still searching for that forever family. She would do best with an experienced adopter who can continue building upon the foundation that has been established through her training. She loves adventure and has enjoyed hiking, running, kayaking, paddle boarding, and more. While she does well with children, she should be the only pet in the home at this time.

We are incredibly grateful to Yes K9 for believing in dogs like Jovie and for being a valued community partner. Their willingness to help dogs work through challenges gives so many animals a better chance at finding lasting homes.

Join Us in Welcoming Remi, formerly known as Kyro!

Remi is a handsome 4-year-old German Shepherd weighing approximately 70 pounds who recently found himself in an unfortunate situation. After arriving at the shelter as a stray, no one came forward to claim him, and his final day was scheduled for June 19.

Thankfully, one of our incredible community supporters reached out and offered to foster him, with the possibility of adoption if he settles in well with her family.

From everything we’ve learned so far, Remi is an amazing dog. He is affectionate with people, does well with other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows commands like sit and shake. He appeared to be house-trained in the shelter, consistently keeping his kennel clean and patiently waiting to go outside. Most importantly, he has a wonderful temperament and a heart full of love.

Remi is heartworm positive and will need treatment, but that diagnosis does not define him. He deserves the opportunity to receive the care he needs and finally experience the stability and love of a forever home.

We are so grateful to the supporter who stepped up to give Remi a chance when his time was running out. Stories like his remind us that it only takes one person to change an animal’s future.

UPDATE: BOTH PENDING ADOPTION

Good Morning Everyone, we have two new additions that are available for adoption at PetSmart in Aberdeen!

Bluebell is a long-haired orange tabby, who is around 1.5yrs old. She is a lovable cat who loves attention all the time, she will even wrap her paw around you arm or leg to give her more attention if you stop. She is great with cats, and dogs. Due to her playful nature, we would recommend a family with older children. She is also litterbox trained as well.

Dr. Pepper aka Sage is a grey/white 3 yr old cat who is a velcro boy at heart. He likes to be carried like a baby and snuggle up with his people. He has a very gentle demeanor, especially with kids. He is good with other cats and dogs, as well as litter box trained.

Unfortunately, situations like this become all too common during peak puppy and kitten season.

Yesterday, four puppies were found abandoned in a box. One of the puppies had suffered devastating injuries and, despite efforts to help, humane euthanasia was the kindest option. The remaining three puppies are doing well and are safe in our care.

At approximately four weeks old, these little ones were not part of our planned intake, but when animals are in need, we do our best to step in. Thankfully, a temporary foster volunteered to help while we work to secure a more permanent placement for them.

For now, they are safe, warm, and receiving the care they deserve.

We are on the hunt for Fosters!

Three of our dogs are in URGENT need of foster placements.

• Jazzy is 4-4.5yrs old. She is a LOVER who wants to be glued to her people. She is dog, cat, and child friendly. SO child friendly. She is heartworm positive but we cover the treatment. As long as your pup(s) are on preventatives, they should be fine. Heartworms are transmitted via mosquitoes.

• Dolly - 3yrs old. She was surrendered to be put down at the vet for ear polyps. She is being treated for them. She is also heartworm positive, and we will cover that treatment. She has been good with other dogs and kids, although she doesn’t know her size. That said, she may be a bit much for small kiddos. Cats are unknown.

• Harvey - 4-5mos old. Super happy and friendly little guy. Came to us after landing in the shelter as a stray with a nasty wound to the face/shoulder. He has been recovering great. He is good with other dogs, though we recommend bigger dogs as he does play rough and may freak out small dogs. He also is not ideal for cats. He is super kid friendly!

Good Morning Paws of the Pines Pack!

We wanted to let everyone know we will be at PetSense in Laurinburg this Saturday from 12pm-3pm! We are excited to see the lovely people of Laurinburg come out and meet our pups available for adoption!

We will be having a bunch of puppies coming out to hopefully find their forever homes! If you are interested in any bigger dogs in specific and wanted to meet at this event then please let us know! Also if you wanted to get ahead of the game then please submit an application prior to coming out to the event!
