We are at PetSmart in Aberdeen again this month. We have four sweet cats there looking for their forever homes! All four cats are fixed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FELV and up to date on prevention/vaccines. We have provided information about each cat down below!

Chocolate Chip- 2yr old neutered male cat- Super friendly with people, great with kids, will hiss and run away from other cats at first then after a few hours will try to play with them, will do the same with dogs. He loves to be up on high places, so we recommend a cat tree for him. He is an easy going boy and will do good with any family dynamic!

Almond - 3 yr old spayed female- Very people friendly - good with kids 13+ , good with dogs/will stand up to a dog who doesn't give her space, and doesn't like other cats. Almond would do good as an only cat in her household- she does not like sharing attention and will prefer to be the center of your world. She will come to you when she wants attention on her own terms, and will most likely want to rule your household.

ButterBall- 2yr old spayed female - Shy at first and his a grumpy/angry expression in her cage. Good with kids, loves cats, and is shy around dogs/doesn't mind them. ButterBall would do great with a family who has other cats in the household and loves new cat friends. She loves when you give her chin/head scratches and once she is comfortable with you will curl up in your lap. Even though she has a grumpy face, she is a big sweetheart and takes time to warm up in new environments.

Screech- 2 yr old spayed female - Very Affectionate, would be great for a first time cat owner. Amazing with other cat/dogs/kids. Screech doesn't know the word personal space and loves being around anyone/everything. She wants to make any animal or human her friend. She loves playing with feather toys and chasing the tiny toy balls around the house. She is a talker especially when food is involved which is how she got her name Screech.

We are still on the hunt for a foster for Buzz! We adopted out his siblings (Jessie & Woody) and now he’s ready to start his journey!

Paws of the Pines Rescue is growing, but our ability to keep helping animals depends on growing the team behind them.

Right now, we especially need FOSTERS, but there are so many other ways to get involved!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
• Fostering dogs & cats
• Foster coordination
• Adoption events
• PetSmart cat room months
• Records & administrative support
• General rescue support

We are 100% volunteer run. None of us are paid to do this.. we have jobs, families, and responsibilities outside of rescue, and there are only so many hours in the day.

We want to keep saying YES to animals who need us, but we can’t do much more until we have more hands helping make it possible.

You don’t have to do everything to make a difference. Even a few hours, one event, or one foster can help lighten the load.

Why should you foster-to-adopt Dolly? Because sometimes forever starts with simply giving a dog a chance.

Dolly has already been through more than her fair share. She came to us needing medical care, underwent surgery for painful ear polyps, was spayed, and is now working through the final piece of her medical journey.. heartworm treatment.

Do we have anyone interested in fostering a momma dog with pups? Puppies should be able to begin accepting applications in 3 weeks, with the ability to leave to new homes within 4-5 weeks of placement!

They are currently residing under a home and were/are invested with fleas. Mom is shown below, and dad is a black lab.

Our organization will provide you with support to include supplies you may need and medical coverage as needed for them!

Everyone meet Freddie Mercury!

This sweet 4 month old boy is a possible german shepered/border collie/aussie mix. He is a smart cookie and catching on to obedience training well. He does not liking being in the crate and instead likes to be right by your side.

He is great with other dogs, does better with older kids (we would say 13 + )due to his energy level and only will do good with cats that will stand up to a dog. He does like to chase them out the back yard when they intrude.

He is definitely has some type of working line genes in him due to the fact he likes to herd the other dogs/people that are around him. He does so by by niping at your heels or nipping at the brim of your shirt/leg.

Freddie is going to need someone that understand he is always on the move and wanting a job to do. If you want a hiking partner, running buddy, or another adventuring friend, then please consider Freddie!

Looking for a small dog? 💜

It’s not often we have FOUR little dogs looking for forever homes at once! Lulu, Sweetie, Kiki, and Cotton Ball are each waiting for someone to choose them.

• LULU
Just over a year old, Lulu is a Chiweenie mix who bonds closely with her people. She can be a little standoffish at first, but warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. She would do best in a calmer home where she can settle in and build that special bond. Preferably no young children.

• SWEETIE
Sweetie was found on the side of the road trying to avoid traffic. Now safe, she wants nothing more than to be with her people! She’s a uniquely beautiful little girl with gorgeous chocolate Merle coloring who happily soaks up every bit of love and attention she can get.

• KIKI
Sweet, cuddly, friendly…and a professional escape artist. Kiki came from one of our shelter partners and is believed to be a Chiweenie mix. This tiny girl can squeeze through incredibly small spaces, go under fencing, AND climb a 4-foot fence. She needs an adopter committed to keeping a close eye on her and providing secure containment. In return, you get one seriously sweet little cuddle buddy!

• COTTON BALL
Our miracle girl. One of Momma Squeak’s puppies, Cotton Ball nearly didn’t make it. She surprised the veterinary staff AND us by pulling through! She temporarily lost her vision during her ordeal, but it appears to have returned. Now she can often be found zooming around with the happiest tail wags. She’s a fluffy brindle mystery mix who loves everyone and everything and is still working on house training.

Four little dogs. Four very different personalities. Four forever homes needed.

Immediate foster take overs needed!

We would prefer these little ones go in pairs if going to foster homes, but they are also available and ready for adoption!

These pups were dumped with their siblings on their Foster’s porch in a box. No note, nothing to tell us anything about them. They were maybe 3 days old.

We suspect they will be larger dogs, but they have fantastic laid back personalities. They’ve been dewormed and had their first puppy shots. They will be spayed/neutered after 12 weeks of age.
