True that Today had 5 dogs with ticks on them !

The weather is about to turn, and this is the part plenty of pet owners miss: fall is peak season for the ticks that carry Lyme. Adult deer ticks are most active from October into winter, and ticks in general keep going any time it is above freezing. Fleas do not quit either, since a heated house feels like summer to them all year. The Companion Animal Parasite Council recommends prevention every month, all year, for every pet. After walks, run your hands over the ears, eyes, collar line, toes, and groin and feel for anything small and stuck. We are sharing this as general info, not medical advice, so if you find a tick or you are not sure your pet is covered, your vet is the right call. Tag a friend who thinks tick season ends with summer.

A research project evaluated the effect of grazing muzzles on insulin responses in ID horses over a 10-hour grazing period. The study included nine mixed breed, mixed s*x horses with an average age of 19 years. All had insulin dysfunction with insulin > 50 uU/ml at 60 minutes using an oral sugar test. Two horses also had PPID.

The study found that grazing muzzles are effective at reducing insulin responses in ID horses on late summer pasture with NSC 6-13.8%.
