RideAbility hosted their annual Volunteer Appreciation Party on Monday, October 19, 2026 at a beautiful and very accommodating venue provided by Julie and Don Hoerle. Guests brought their favorite pizza cheese and toppings to prepare a personal pan pizza cooked by Don and JulieW in two wood fired pizza ovens. So many creative recipes resulted in a wide variety of favorite pizzas!
After pizza, we played an appropriately themed Halloween party game, "The Headless Horseman" and the winner will be the caretaker for the solid gold Golden Horseman trophy until next year! Next, we had a door prize drawing for some gifts. Then, we had a presentation of some custom decorated horse ornaments prepared by a RideAbility client given to everyone along with gift cards donated by local sponsors. In addition, everyone attending received a "Volunteer Recognition Certificate" documenting that person's special skills in volunteering for RideAbility.
A huge thanks to all the volunteers for their "summer of service" to RideAbility, an opportunity to help RideAbility, a recognized local organization give back to the community, helping clients learn and develop their riding skills, supporting client families and friends in great recreation and finally, for their own personal development in learning new skills, accepting new responsibilities and building new friendships!
More thanks to all the RideAbility leadership/team members who planned the event, acquired the necessary supplies, prepared the awards and obtained the local business sponsorship support!
Finally, a huge thanks to Julie and Don Hoerle for letting us use their venue, providing wonderful decorations appropriate for horse and riding enthusiasts, preparing and clean-up, and being wonderful hosts!
