Just a semi friendly reminder.

This is MAINLY for 4H parents

Please so your research on the breeds and how they are supposed to look. Too many breeders posting things as showable but they are very clearly not. You need to worry less about the pedigree. That would be 5th on my list.

1st: type and color
2nd: Temperament
3rd: conditions the rabbit is living in
4th: The breeders reputation and willingness to help and not just throw a rabbit at you with 0 info.
5th pedigree.

You do NOT need a pedigree to show. BUT I love pedigrees with breeding so you know colors and genetics and all of that.

Quality over quantity.

I've been breeding Hollands for a few years.
I am not afraid to admit mine are no where close to the best. BUT mine aren't the worst and I'm working toward that goal. Real true type with good lines and genetics are not che@p. I don't care what anyone says. While I do agree some are outrageous though.

Please please please watch how the person is talking to you. If they use "am" instead of I am immediately a red flag for a scammer. If super pushy on sending the 💰 now another red flag. While some of us require a dep to hold. I am never pushy. You just forfeit the right for me to decline someone else if they want to. Which is totally your right.

IF YOU WANT REFERENCES ALWAYS POST IN THE GROUPS ASKING ABOUT THEM! I NEVER use who they suggest to contact. Yes I am paranoid.

I just hate seeing people get scammed and 4h kids hurt because their bunny got disqualified.

VMS are not a showable color unless BEW. (Blue eyes and White coat)

VCs you can TECHNICALLY show but pay attention to type and yes that includes nails.

Not every non Vienna (clean line) is showable. Just because it's a showable color does not mean it's worthy of a show table.

Mini plush lops are not showable. While very cute they are not as of yet. However rumor has it they are trying to get SOP together so YAY! Maybe in the near future.

If you have any questions do not ever hesitate to reach out! I love helping in any way possible. And if I don't know I know people who will know or should know.

I'll leave this post after one more thing.

If I go to another show and I hear another adult talk down about a youth and their stock I will be taking you outside. Do NOT discourage our youth. It's one thing to explain what the rabbits faults are but to be absolutely rude and ugly are separate things. Plus it's not your job. It's the judges and no one asked you so🤷🏼‍♀️ I always make a point to compliment how beautiful they all are. It's not hard. It's so easy to be kind. Offer guidance. Or keep your traps shut.
