As the first day of school approaches we want to remind everyone of our fun hands on experiences we offer at Mavs chicks:

Hatch a chick program
A full 28 day program with all supplies needed to hatch and raise your own chicks for their first week of life

Rent a chick:
A shorter program where families or school get to raise chicks for 5 days with all supplies included. The option to extend your time with your chicks is possible.

This was a very fun and interesting way to look at things! Our flock still includes many young pullets who don’t lay consistent yet and some older ladies/ornamental breeds that don’t lay the best so egg production is not the highest. This also doesn’t include the cost for our chicks/ducklings in the brooders! Anyone who says they get chickens to “save money on eggs” definitely just needed an excuse to convince their hubbys!(me, it was something I told Nico)😂
