Another good day of training. Chukars in the sage brush and pheasants in the grass. All the dogs had multiple difficult retrieves on chukars and pheasants. Rogue was just Rogue mister work horse. Nice finds and super retrieves. Tom probably had the most difficult retrieve of the day (always seems like that happens to the least experienced) while he didn't button it he worked it out nicely. Kenzie had a crippled bird that ran about 80 yards that she handled very well.

Training for the Cocker Nationals in Roy Montana. I ran a trail there a few years ago. Cover will not hold pheasants so they opted to use chukars. I have similar cover so we've been training there. Pretty nice because I can turn and run nice grass cover down a dried creek bed on pheasants. Tomorrow I will set out double plants in order to simulate what will happen at the Nationals.
Sunday we'll set up flush on retrieve. More than likely will happen in the series work.

Mowed an access road into some winter training grounds. Super nice cover with a little terrain . This canyon is about a mile long so training in the same spot will not be a problem. I'll spend the rest of this month training here getting ready for the Cocker Nationals. Should be similar cover.. sage brush, grasses and a nice dry creek bed to add some variety.

Little Tom earned his first Open All Age placement today by placing Second at the Timpanagos cocker trial. Tom is just 16 months old and sired By our FC HR Whitewaters Ohae Rogue. He's has a very brite future ahead of him.

Well broke the new truck today, this is what it looked like trying to get out of the grounds at the Timpanagos trial . Took a few runs at it but we got out. Say a little prayer for the rest of the trialers still in there

Spent Monday night at our new favorite spot south of Miles City Montana, huge wind when we stopped. Tuesday night we went south of Three Forks Montana a little bumpy getting there but another great spot. Did some training there this morning. Finally at our last stop of the trip Clarkston Utah. Running the Timpanagos cocker /springer trial. Should be home Sunday.
It's been a long fun trip. Home for a few days then I'll head west to judge the Northwest trial.
