When the farm puppy steals your meal…and then your heart! ❤ Last year we suffered a substantial loss. After our tragic loss of 2 yr. old corgi, Nellie, we adopted two “who knows what” pups. Connecticut Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary welcomes Hopper and Patrick. Two different rescues; two different origins; only a day a part in age! Welcome home boys!!

I feel like we live in a dream. We have this beautiful property to provide safe housing and care for horses needing homes due to injury or age. We care for these horses 24/7 no matter what the weather is like. We work endlessly to maintain fencing and pastures. Most of the time I don’t get the opportunity to ride. Most of the horses here aren’t rideable so they don’t care as long as they are loved.

For those of you who don’t know what we do, we provide sanctuary for horses. This is a permanent safe housing situation for their lives. Many horses are euthanized or end up at auction because many people don’t want horses who aren’t rideable. Me, I have my own personal horses who can be ridden and the others are just my companions and keep each other company. They provided stress relief when I’m done my 9-5 job. They provide happiness for our son. We have a few people who pop in regularly to help or visit and they love seeing these horses and how happy and healthy they are.

If you would like to join us and support our mission please reach out to volunteer, join the board, or help out with property maintenance. We are a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We need your donations to continue to provide lifelong care for these horses.

We also provide full board and have an indoor arena. All proceeds from board go directly into the rescue.
