Today is Jake's birthday. He was born July 26th 1999 and died December 7th 2013. He was my heart and soul dog who started it all. Jake started my love for Border Collies and showed me just how special they are. He was an amazing companion, so loyal, protective in the face of danger, and had the best qualities of the breed. His herding instinct was tremendous and when he jumped to catch a frisbee, he looked like he was flying, soaring through the air. I loved him so very much and searched a long time for his bloodlines and now they are the foundation of the dogs in my program! Jojo is his direct relative. I miss him dearly, but I am surrounded by beautiful dogs that remind me of him every day and he gave me so much love that it will never go away. Thank you so much everyone who has a Soaring Borders pup. Know that your dogs have a deep and lasting love for you as Jake had for me. Everyone here is doing well and I will post updates soon about new additions to the Soaring Borders Border Collies family!
