Where does the water come from?
From snow that melts in the springtime, and rain running through the streams and rivers.

Why doesn't it get dirty?
Well sometimes it does but in South Carolina our forest help keep the water clean.

Mushrooms are much more like humans and animals than they are like plants. Mushrooms do not photosynthesize, they rely on nutrients from external sources, aka "they eat things."

Unlike plants, mushrooms have chitin in their cells which is the same material found in exoskeletons of insects and spiders.
