❤🐾 As some of you may already know, this past week was Veterinary Technician Week. A veterinary technician (or vet tech) is essentially a nurse for animals, and they wear many hats! We are so grateful to these incredible people who help not only the animals we love so much, but also their humans (and veterinarians!).
To all veterinary technicians, THANK YOU!

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that’s something we can think about for our pets, too! 🐾

Did you know that spaying your female dog or cat can greatly reduce her risk of mammary cancer? Talk with your veterinarian about the right time to spay your pet and how it can benefit her long-term health.

Dr. High doesn’t offer surgical procedures as part of her house-call services, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help you find someone who does! If you’re looking for affordable spay/neuter options, check out Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic or the Humane Society of South Mississippi (see links below).

A little prevention now can make a big difference for your baby’s future. 💗

🌈 They may be gone, but they are never forgotten.

The Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful reminder to celebrate the pets who changed our lives and left us with memories we’ll carry forever.
If you’ve experienced pet loss, you know how deeply it hurts. We do, too. As veterinary professionals, we’ve stood beside countless families during some of their hardest goodbyes—and we’ve had to say those goodbyes to our own beloved pets.
There is no timeline for grief. There is no “just a pet.” There is simply love, and the incredible bond we were lucky enough to share.
Today, we invite you to share that love. ❤️
📸 Post a photo of your Rainbow Bridge pet in the comments and tell us their name or share a favorite memory.
Let’s fill this space with stories of the pets who made our lives better. 🌈🐾

Is your cat suddenly peeing outside the litter box? Or maybe they’re spending a lot of time in the litter box but producing very little urine?

These can be signs of a urinary tract or other urinary issue, and they can be incredibly uncomfortable for cats. 🐱💔

If your cat pees on something you love, try not to assume they’re being “bad” or simply acting out. Medical problems should be ruled out before assuming it’s behavioral.

Dr. High provides Fear Free veterinary care to help your cat feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Know a fellow cat parent who needs this reminder? Please share this post with them! 🐾

When the time comes to say goodbye, your pet’s final moments should be peaceful, gentle, and surrounded by the people they love most. ❤️🐾

We understand that this is the hardest appointment to make as a Pet Parent, and we want you to know that you are not alone.

With compassionate, in-home pet euthanasia, your companion can say goodbye in the comfort of home—without the stress of a trip to the veterinary clinic.
At High Veterinary House Call Services, we’re honored to help families create a calm, loving goodbye for their pets.
The kindest goodbye is letting them cross the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by love. 🌈
