To allow our team time for an important staff meeting and training session, Phoenixville Animal Hospital will be closing early at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 23.

🌞🐾 Extreme Heat Alert: Keep Your Pets Safe! 🐾🌞

With temperatures reaching dangerous levels, it's important to take extra precautions to protect your furry family members.

Here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe during this heat:
🐶 Limit outdoor activities to the early morning or late evening when it's cooler.
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌳 Keep pets in the shade or, even better, indoors with air conditioning whenever possible.
🔥 Remember that pavement can become hot enough to burn paw pads—if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
😓 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately.

During periods of excessive heat, the safest choice is to minimize outdoor exposure as much as possible. Our pets rely on us to keep them safe and comfortable.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your pets a little extra TLC during this heat wave! ❤️🐾

Dr. Winter joins our team on June 30th and is passionate about helping pets live happy, healthy lives while building lasting relationships with the families who love them.

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Winter now proudly calls the Phoenixville area home. She has a special soft spot for orange cats and miniature dachshunds, and when she's not at the hospital, you'll likely find her traveling, enjoying sweet treats, watching true crime documentaries, or exploring Bridge Street.
