Meet Spade! ♠️ Spade is a 2-year-old Heeler/Pit mix who was found as a stray in Casa Grande. While his past may be a mystery, one thing is certain, this sweet boy has so much love to give! Spade is a gentle, affectionate soul who loves nothing more than soaking up pets, enjoying tasty treats, and curling up in a pile of soft pillows. 🥹

He’s shown wonderful manners in a home environment, with no destructive behaviors, and walks nicely on leash without reactivity. He’s also known to be dog-friendly with proper introductions! Spade is the perfect mix of sweet, snuggly, and easygoing. Now all he needs is a family to call his own. Could that be you?

Welcome Loverboy Bandit to the DHS family! 🎉 Bandit waited 120 days for this moment, and we are so excited! He will be staying with a foster for how until we find his forever people! Bandit is a lover, he’s full of kisses, he loves other doggies, loves treats, and loves people! He’s a 2 year old cattle mix with a heart of gold. He’s will be adoptable after his apt at the end of the month! 🩵

🎉 Guess who is officially ADOPTED !? 🎉 Our angel puppy, Panda!!! He was found as a stray, stayed at the Casa shelter for 83 very long days, then we had him at Heidi’s village for another few weeks! His forever family came and met him, fell in love, and never looked back! Congratulations PANDA bear. We are so happy for you! happy forever, sweet boy! We love you! 🥰

🐶 CHESTER UPDATE WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Hello everyone! We know so many of you have been waiting for an update on sweet Chester. After undergoing cherry eye surgery at the Casa Grande shelter, Chester has been experiencing significant pain and complications with his eyes and that is why we pulled him to get him the help he needs. Today, he was seen at VCA Emergency, where the veterinarian found severe inflammation and, unfortunately, a large ulcer on his left eye. 💔 The doctor was just as concerned about Chester’s eyes as we are. He was sent home with eye ointment and pain medication to help keep him comfortable, but his journey to healing is far from over. He will need to see a veterinary ophthalmologist next week for further evaluation and treatment.
Today’s vet bill was over $500 and we anticipate his specialist appointment will cost a similar amount, if not more.

Chester has already been through so much, and all we want is for this sweet boy to finally be pain-free, healthy, and comfortable. He deserves that. 🥺

We are asking our amazing rescue community to help us continue Chester’s care. No donation is too small, and every dollar goes toward giving him the medical attention he desperately needs. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing his story. Every little bit helps!

Mama Rory and her daughter Lory were both saved from Casa Grande shelter, by different people on different days through Desert Haven… both living in tiny crates in an overflow room, unseen and scared… well yesterday they got to REUNITE and we are sobbing! 🥹🥹🥹 Such a beautiful moment, another reason why we do what we do! 🙌🏻💕🐶🐶
