🐾 Little Snouts, Big Thanks! 💚

Has someone on our Desert Rose team made a difference for your pet? We’d love to hear your story!

In celebration of National Vet Tech Week, October 18–24, Snout’s giveaway invites pet parents to recognize the teams who have been there for them—from comforting a nervous pet to offering support during a difficult visit.

Your story gives Desert Rose Animal Hospital a chance to win $1,000 or a $500 runner-up prize! 🎉

👉 Submit your story at vta.snout.com by October 24 and select Desert Rose Animal Hospital.

Anyone can participate—you don’t need to be a Snout member! Thank you for helping us celebrate the people who care for your pets. 🐶🐱

I just entered my veterinary hospital into Snout’s giveaway. Know a team that goes the extra mile? Enter them, too!

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and National Pit Bull Awareness Month, and we’re putting the spotlight on Khloe! 🐾💛

This beautiful girl is available for adoption through Rescue Street and is looking for a family to call her own. Just look at that face—and those ears! 😍

At Desert Rose Animal Hospital, we believe every dog deserves to be seen as an individual and have the chance to find a loving home.

Interested in learning more about Khloe? Reach out to Rescue Street to ask about her personality, needs, and adoption process. And if you aren’t looking to adopt, sharing this post could help her future family find her! 🏡

It’s National Dog Week! 🐶❤️

As if we needed another excuse to celebrate our dogs. 😂 They make us laugh, follow us everywhere, take up way more room in the bed than they should, and somehow always know exactly when we’re opening a snack.

We get to meet so many amazing dogs at Desert Rose, from wiggly new puppies to sweet seniors who have been part of the family for years, and we love getting to know all of their different personalities.

So give your pup an extra treat, belly rub, or adventure this week. 🐾

And because we can never see too many dog pictures… show us yours! Drop a photo in the comments and tell us their name. 📸❤️

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the countless heroes who stepped forward in the days that followed — including those with four paws. 🇺🇸🐾

Hundreds of search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers worked tirelessly at Ground Zero and other sites, searching through debris, helping locate survivors and victims, and providing comfort during an unimaginable time.

These dogs didn’t understand the magnitude of what had happened. They simply knew they had a job to do — and they did it alongside their handlers with incredible dedication.

Today, we remember the victims, the first responders, the rescue teams, and the remarkable dogs who served beside them.

We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

Have you ever looked at your pet and thought, “Something just seems a little off”? 🐾

Sometimes that’s one of the first signs they may be uncomfortable. Pets can be surprisingly good at hiding pain, and the signs aren’t always as obvious as a yelp or a limp.

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, so it’s a good time to know some of the subtle changes to watch for:

• Slowing down or hesitating to jump or use stairs
• Sleeping more or being less interested in play
• Limping or stiffness, especially after resting
• Changes in appetite or grooming
• Hiding, becoming more withdrawn, or acting unusually irritable
• Excessive licking of one area

You know your pet’s “normal” better than anyone. If something seems different, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it, it’s worth paying attention to.

Catching and managing pain early can make a big difference in keeping our pets comfortable, active, and doing the things they love. ❤️

🌵 Love having Desert Rose in your neighborhood? Nextdoor’s 2026 Fave Awards are open through September 30! We’d be so grateful for your vote as a Nextdoor Fave. 💚
