Meet Lucy! This beautiful girl is the new little sister to Roxy, who came to train with me back in 2023. There’s no greater compliment than having clients trust me with their new puppy—it truly means the world to me!
Lucy is here to learn all of her foundational obedience skills while building confidence along the way.
Here's her before video, followed by her first walk on the prong collar as she begins learning a default sit. She's off to a great start, and I'm excited to watch her progress over the next couple of weeks!

Meet Lilly! Lilly is here to learn the basics while building confidence. She struggles with separation anxiety, destructive behaviors, and leash reactivity—all common behaviors we often see in nervous, anxious dogs.

Before Lilly came to training, I asked her owners to hold off on purchasing any training equipment until I had the opportunity to evaluate her in person. Every dog is an individual, and I prefer to choose training tools based on the dog in front of me rather than making assumptions ahead of time.

In this video, Lilly is working on a slip lead, and she's doing very well with it. If she begins pulling hard enough to choke herself, I may transition her to a prong collar to provide clearer, more effective communication while keeping her comfortable and safe. But at this point, the slip lead is meeting her needs.

My goal is always to let the dog tell me what tools are appropriate. The exceptions are cases involving significant aggression or when owners have specific goals, such as off-leash reliability, that require different equipment. Just like no two dogs are the same, their training plans shouldn't be either. Every dog deserves an approach that's tailored to their individual temperament, behavior, and needs.

🚨Warning! Cuteness overload!🚨
This adorable little man is Hank! Hank is actually the 3rd dog i have trained for his owners. 💕 Hank is here to learn all the basics!

Here we're working on Sit, Down, Come, and Place. Hank has been here for just one week, and he's already making incredible progress with all of his commands!
When I start training puppies, I begin by luring them with their food. Instead of feeding from a bowl, I use each puppy's meals as training opportunities. Since puppies typically eat three times a day, that gives us three focused 15-minute training sessions every day. It's a fun, rewarding way to build engagement, teach new skills, and create a strong foundation for future training.

Wren's 2-week Board & Train is coming to an end, and it's always a bittersweet moment. We build such a strong relationship with these dogs during their stay, so while we're excited to see them head home and succeed with their families, it's never easy to say goodbye.
Sometimes we get to see them again when they come back for boarding, but not always. That's why we absolutely love receiving your PupDates and seeing how they're doing after they go home!

Video 1: Wren's second day learning Place and Down.
Video 2: Some well-earned off-leash playtime and fun.
Video 3: Practicing a solid Down while working through the added distraction of the cats.
We're so proud of Wren's progress and can't wait to watch her continue to thrive at home!

Yay Cocoa! Thank you Rotten Rottie Rescue for saving this girl and allowing me to work with her. 💕💕

Working on place and down with Lina around the cats!
As I mentioned in my previous post, Lina is an incredibly sensitive girl. When she's unsure or doesn't want to do something, she'll often cry or even drop to the ground. In those moments, she's too overwhelmed to take food, so the focus isn't on luring her with treats. Instead, it's about teaching her to calmly yield to the pressure of the collar and guiding her through the exercise.
At the same time, I'm showing Lina that I will never put her in a situation that is unsafe or unfair. As she learns she can trust my guidance, her confidence begins to grow. Confidence and trust go hand in hand, and for dogs like Lina, building both is what allows them to truly thrive.

Lina is available for adoption with Paws 4 A Cause Arizona
Dog friendly, cat friendly, potty trained, kennel trained
She comes with free lesson so you can keep up with all her training!
