Walk and Talk with Luna

06/17/2026

Did some evening work with the dogs last night. Each dog showed who they are. They all perform, but each has its own characteristics. Luna, her sweet self, Sol, I need to find something to be stubborn about, and Dixie game on.

Walk and Talk with Luna and Sol

06/13/2026

Headed up to Anthem for a warm but no sun field trip with Luna and Sol today. They both did well on the car ride. I wasn't sure how it would go, since it was the first time I would have them in the car together, but I did know I would hold them accountable for being good and for lying down in the car, which they did. I walked them around the park and had them pose for a couple of pictures. They were nervous and unsure, but overall, they did well and even received a few compliments, which we happily accepted. I have to say, even though they are trying to figure out life and realize it is scary, they can handle it.

Walk and Talk with Saint Dixie

06/05/2026

Sol headed out for a car ride and a short field trip. Sol, just like her Mom, Luna, was afraid of cars, whether they were stationary or moving. The night before, we practice going up and down the ramp into the car. Sol or Luna had very few issues going into the car. Sol needed to go for a ride, so I could see how she would be in the car moving. We headed up to Desert Ridge for a bit. Sol did okay on the drive and was surprisingly really good at the Ridge. She even received a few good comments. Which surprised me. Overall, Sol and Luna are both turning out to be pretty good dogs.

Took Luna for a car ride today. When she and Sol came in, it was mentioned that one of them or maybe both were afraid of getting in cars. When I took them outside to walk up and down the street. They would freak out when cars came by and try to get away. Last evening, I took them out just to get them into the car by going up and down a ramp. They both were a bit unsure but ended up doing okay. So today I took Luna for a ride to see how she would be getting into the car again, and how she would be riding around. She climbed right up the ramp and into the car. I had her lie down for the ride; she did get up a couple of times, but would lie right back down when stimulated with the e-collar. Luna is not only a pretty sweet dog but a pretty good one, too.

Sol, not wanting to be left out, also stepped up for a nail trim after seeing how good Luna’s nails looked. I also heard Sol was not too interested in having her nails trimmed, another surprise of the day. But Miss Sol put on her big dog fur and enjoyed the process. She is also scheduled for another appointment. Dogs never cease to amaze me.

Miss Luna scheduled herself for a nail trim yesterday. I was kind of surprised because I had heard she wasn’t very enthusiastic about having her nails trimmed. So I was prepared for what might come my way. But to my surprise, Luna did very well, and I believe she somewhat enjoyed the process. She’s already scheduled for another nail appointment next week.
