If anyone has it in their heart to donate…. ❤️🙏🏻🐾

This is a local 20yo college student. She has a 1.5-year-old cat Ace, and just adopted a new kitten from the Arizona Humane Society. Within a week the kitten started showing signs of illness. She was in critical care at the emergency vet, became septic, and ended up passing away, leaving Mariah with a $5000 vet bill. Shortly after, her older cat started getting sick and now he is in critical care at the vet. She is facing more mounting vet bills to save her baby. This has been a nightmare for them and unfortunately AHS is not helping. As much as I support and appreciate animal rescues, no adopter should be facing a tragedy like this alone. 💔🐾 if you don’t have the means to donate, please share!

This is huge! The pic is part of the marketing for Chewys new human grade Get Real fresh dog food line. We are not endorsing this food just yet but look who they are recognizing being formulated by! 🐾❤️

The industry is starting to recognize that consumers are waking up regarding commercialized “vet recommended” diets. Vets typically have almost no training in nutrition, so the vet endorsement is largely driven by profit on some of the worst quality and most inappropriate foods…with a manipulative premium price tag. The “vet recommended” claim is starting to mean less and less. 🤥🫥

If you are interested in consulting with a certified pet nutritionist regarding a holistic diet focused on preventing or reversing disease, you’ve come to the right place!🐾🐾

Hi! My name is Torrey! 😻 I’m a super sweet 3yo girl and have lived my entire life in a quiet north Phx condo. I have loved my peaceful home here! 🐾❤️

A few months ago my human dad passed away. I miss him so much. 💔 Now my mom is not well and never coming home. 😿 There are strangers here with me but they said I have to find a new home ASAP, before the condo gets ready to sell. 🥺

Could you be my new family? ❤️🐾 I offer lots of love and snuggles and I swear I don’t need much but a full belly and a warm comfy lap from time to time. 🥰

Torrey is spayed and microchipped.

Unfortunately most vets are not trained in nutrition and continue to push the big commercialized ultra processed feed grade foods. If you need any assistance with actual healthy nutrition, PerPETual Love Nutrition is here to help! We break down the industry to make it super simple to understand, and give you the knowledge to be confident making healthy choices on your own. 🐾❤️

A large peer-reviewed study survey of over 8,800 pet owners found that only about 14% rely on veterinary advice when choosing what to feed their pets, meaning the vast majority of decisions are influenced by forces outside the exam room. While the study didn’t investigate the reasons behind this gap, it highlights a clear disconnect between pet parents’ priorities and where they get their information, especially as many owners are increasingly seeking minimally processed and human grade diet choices that aren’t found in veterinary clinics.

Rather than pointing to a lack of trust, the findings suggest an opportunity: as interest in evolving nutrition grows, there’s a chance for veterinarians to play a more active role in guiding these conversations and helping bridge the gap between ultraprocessed, feed grade diets and what pet parents are actually looking for.

In the study, anxious dogs were given the medicinal mushroom Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) at a dose of 1000 mg per 10 kg of body weight (about 100 mg/kg) once daily for 28 days. This intervention led to a ~62% reduction in anxiety scores, with dogs improving to the point where they were no longer statistically different from healthy controls.

For families who cannot source Lion’s Mane, research suggests probiotics may offer a powerful alternative.

A 2025 peer-reviewed study published in the journal Animals (MDPI) found the probiotic strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP815™ naturally produces GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a neurotransmitter that helps calm the nervous system by regulating nerve activity. Unlike traditional calming supplements, LP815 works through the gut–brain axis to support more lasting, natural calming effects.

LP815 clinical results in dogs (after 4 weeks):
• Reduced fear- and noise-related aggression
• More restful, consistent sleep
• Improved mood and reduced reactivity
• Better energy and emotional balance
• Faster settling after owner departure

That’s why when developed her one-of-a-kind canine probiotic, she included Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP815™ in PRIMITIVE PROBIOTICS™—a science-driven approach to rebuilding and maintaining your dog’s microbiome using strains inspired by wild canids, healthy domestic dogs, and living soil.

A high quality probiotic can support proper digestion, reduce inflammation, and even reduce seizure risk. Our gut health really is the baseline for overall health! We highly recommend Visbiome.

🧠 Epilepsy and the gut in dogs

Dogs with epilepsy often show differences in their gut microbiome compared to healthy dogs. This imbalance, known as dysbiosis, may contribute to seizure activity.

How does the gut influence seizures? Gut bacteria can affect neurotransmitters like GABA and serotonin, which regulate brain excitability. An imbalanced microbiome may also increase systemic inflammation, which is linked to a lower seizure threshold. In addition, beneficial gut bacteria produce short chain fatty acids that may help protect brain cells and stabilize neural signaling.

Early studies suggest that probiotics may help reduce seizure frequency or severity in some dogs. Diets that shift the microbiome, including ketogenic style approaches, may also support seizure control. Gut targeted therapies are being explored as potential add ons to standard epilepsy treatment.

In fact, a recent 2025 peer reviewed study in Research in Veterinary Science (Elsevier) found that probiotic supplementation was associated with lower seizure frequency in dogs, adding to growing evidence for this approach. Overall, benefits appear most promising with multi strain Lactobacillus blends rather than single strains, likely through broader gut–brain axis effects.

North Phoenix! The highly anticipated is finally open and the space is gorgeous! 🐈🐈‍⬛☕️ Make your reservation online and come check it out!

Fully stocked café and the coffee is fantastic! Stop by for a ☕️, even if you don’t have time for the lounge. This is a nonprofit rescue and all kittos are eligible for adoption. Right now they have 26 cats in the lounge area, most coming off the street from TNR projects and many from high kill shelters in Yuma. This hard working rescue truly deserves your support! You can sign up to be a volunteer as well.

Grand Opening this Saturday for the north Phoenix Cat Cafe! 😻😻 Grab a coffee and come relax in the lounge with the kittos.

Walk-ins welcome for the Grand Opening, but going forward you’ll need a one hour reservation to hang.

*** This is a rescue so all cats are up for adoption. 🐱🐯

The moment we have all been waiting for…🥁
PHX Cat Cafe North will be having our GRAND OPENING on March 28th, 2026 from 10am-6pm.
📍4330 W Union Hills Dr., Ste B010

Couple of things to note for the grand opening 📝
☑️We will be open 10am-6pm in both the coffee shop and the cat side. The cat side will CLOSE from 2-3pm for cat break 🐈
☑️The day of the grand opening will be WALK INS ONLY. We will not be taking reservations for the day of the grand opening. The reservation site is still being worked on for North, so you currently CANNOT make a reservation for any future dates. The new booking system should be ready to go by this upcoming weekend 🚶
☑️Lounge time during the day of the grand opening will be 30mins (which is different than our normal hour long reservations that we will have going forward) and will cost $10 per person. This is because we anticipate many people will want to visit right away and we want to be able to allow as many people as possible throughout the day ⏲️
☑️We will have BRAND NEW staff! The staff is training at the downtown location currently, but there may be some kinks and learning curves we will need to work out with this second location so please give us some grace 🙏🏻
☑️We will have BRAND NEW cats! A couple of cats are transferring from downtown, but majority will be new to the cafe life. Please be understanding and respectful (always) that these cats may be a bit overwhelmed with this new experience 🐈‍⬛
☑️Our rules will be the same for groups with kids. At least 1 adult for every 2 children (under 13yrs) and we will also limit the amount of kids in the lounge. For the grand opening we will be limiting it to 5 kids per half hour entry but will not have our normal daily limit in place for this one day. 👶
☑️Our rules for interactions with the cats will be the same as downtown and will be posted before you walk in and throughout the lounge. If you do not follow the rules you WILL be asked to leave. 🙅‍♀️

Hope to see you there! (Or, ya know, maybe a few days later if you don’t want to deal with too many people- we get it!)
