🐾❤️ CHAPTER 14: Kobe Comes Home 🏡

Kobe wasn’t really lost.

He had simply gone to visit family. ❤️

But after that little adventure, we learned an important lesson. We became extra careful to keep the gate closed, and I taught Kobe to wait at the gate and come when called.

The dog we had rescued had become much more than a pet.

He was family. ❤️

He could sleep without a worry.
He knew he was safe.
He knew he was loved.

He knew he was home. 🏡🐾

Sometimes the greatest adventure…
is finding your way home. ❤️

🐾 Kobe’s journey is just beginning.

Next Tuesday: the story continues as Kobe begins his training. 🐕‍🦺❤️

🐾💜 Chapter 17: Kobe Has a Sister 💜🐾

When Jorge moved away for college, he missed having Kobe nearby and wanted a dog of his own.

Then Uncle Alex called from Mexico about a shy Husky–Shepherd puppy who needed a home. Her name was Luna. 🌙🐾

At first, Luna was nervous and didn’t want to play. But Kobe remained calm and patient. Little by little, she began following him everywhere, gaining confidence and becoming his playful little shadow.

Luna eventually went to live with Jorge, but every visit reunited her with Kobe. Today, they play, explore and occasionally get into a little trouble together. 😄

They weren’t born into the same family—but love made them brother and sister. ❤️🐾

🐾💜 Chapter 16: Kobe Begins His Training 💜🐾

Every meaningful journey starts with a single question.

For me, it was:

Could Kobe become a therapy dog?

That question led me to begin researching therapy dog organizations and certification requirements. During that search, I found Alliance of Therapy Dogs, and that became the starting point for Kobe’s journey.

There were applications, paperwork, background requirements, and many new things for both Kobe and me to learn.

Then the real training began.

With patience, repetition, trust, and plenty of treats, Kobe learned to stay calm, walk beside me, stop when I stopped, turn when I turned, and remain close by my side.

Looking back, we were not simply preparing for an evaluation.

We were preparing for the possibility that Kobe could someday bring comfort, peace, and joy to others. ❤️🐾

Kobe’s therapy-dog training story will continue, and I will share the next part of that journey a little later.

For now, the next chapter takes us back to Kobe’s family story…

Kobe tried to quietly walk away like nothing was happening…
