☀️ MYTH vs. FACT ☀️
“Shaving my dog will keep them cooler.” 🐶✂️
It’s one of the most common summer myths—and the answer isn’t as simple as “yes” or “no.”
For many double-coated breeds, their coat actually helps regulate body temperature, protects their skin from the sun, and acts as natural insulation. Removing that protective coat isn’t always the best way to keep them comfortable.
The key is understanding your dog’s specific coat type. While breeds like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and Australian Shepherds often benefit from regular deshedding, breeds with continuously growing hair—such as Poodles, Doodles, Shih Tzus, Maltese, and Bichons—typically benefit from routine haircuts.
🐾 Every dog is different. The best grooming plan should always be based on your dog’s breed, coat type, lifestyle, and individual needs.
