Some dogs wag their tails.

Some dogs give kisses.

Chucky? He smiles. 😁

And we’re not talking about a tiny little grin… we’re talking full-toof, ear-to-ear, “I just found the best day ever” kind of smiles.

The funny part? If you didn’t know him, you might think he was being goofy (okay… he is 😅), but those smiles are one of the many ways Chucky tells us he’s happy, engaged, and loving life.

This carousel is full of some of our favorite Chucky moments from working hard in training to showing off that signature smile that has completely stolen our hearts.

He’s incredibly smart, loves to learn, is almost ready to earn his AKC Canine Good Citizen title, and is looking for someone willing to see the amazing dog behind his journey.

Because here’s the thing…

Chucky doesn’t need a perfect family.

He just needs his family.

The one who will laugh at his goofy grins, celebrate his wins, toss the ball one more time, and continue building the connection he’s worked so hard to create.

POV: You’ve been sedated for basically every vet visit, so naturally you assume the vet is plotting against you. 😅

This handsome Golden Retriever hasn’t had the easiest relationship with veterinary visits. Most of his experiences have involved waking up wondering what just happened, so we’re helping him rewrite that story.

Instead of only visiting the vet when something scary happens, we partnered with the incredible team at Desert Rose Animal Hospital for some positive exposure sessions. No scary procedures. No surprises. Just treats, confidence-building, meeting kind people, and learning that the vet can actually be… dare we say it… fun? 🤯

Because at Connected Canine, Connection Comes First. And we’re grateful to work alongside veterinary professionals who believe compassionate, low-stress care creates better experiences for dogs and the humans who love them.

The best part?

Chucky is looking for a family of his own. He’s made incredible progress in training, is nearly ready to earn his AKC Canine Good Citizen title, loves playing ball, has the biggest personality, and is proving every day that with patience and understanding, dogs really can change how they feel about the world.

Connection Comes First.

These two photos capture the same moment from two different perspectives.

From the outside, Chucky is a rescue dog experiencing one of his first outings. From his trainer’s perspective, he is choosing to check in, seek guidance, and stay connected in a brand-new environment.

At this point, Chucky has only been training with us for five days.

Training is not just about commands. It is about building trust, creating safety, and teaching a dog that they do not have to navigate the world alone.

The connection Chucky is building today will stay with him for a lifetime.

🎾 Hi, I’m Chucky! 💛

I’m an adult Golden Retriever with a big heart, an even bigger personality, and I’m looking for someone who understands that the best relationships take time.

Right now I’m training with Connected Canine, and I’m almost ready to earn my AKC Canine Good Citizen title! I’ve been working hard on my manners, confidence, and communication, and my future family will receive guidance from my trainers so we can keep building on my success together.

A few things about me:
🐾 Tennis balls are my favorite.
🎁 I love carrying little “gifts” for my favorite people.
🚶 I can even walk myself on my leash.
💛 Once I trust you, I’m incredibly affectionate and loyal.

I can be a little cautious with strangers and sometimes get excited when I see other dogs behind fences or barriers, but my trainers will teach you how to understand my body language and be my advocate when I need you.

I’m looking for an experienced, adult-only home where I can be your one and only pet.

Not every dog that comes through our doors has an owner waiting for them at the end of the day.

Rescue work isn’t the face of our business, and you won’t see us posting about it every day. But it’s one of the biggest reasons we keep pushing forward. It’s why we continue to build relationships with rescues, invest our time, and open our doors to dogs who simply need a chance.

Behind the scenes, we’ve helped dogs work through fear, build confidence, learn life skills, and prepare for the homes they deserve. The victories are often quiet, and the work isn’t always glamorous, but it’s some of the most meaningful work we do.

Today, Toad gets an opportunity to shine.

After spending months with us, this sweet boy may have a potential adopter interested in giving him the forever home he’s been waiting for. There’s just one important question left to answer:

Can he live successfully with cats?

So today… we test.

Fingers crossed for Toad. 🤞 Every rescue dog deserves their moment, and we’re hoping this is the beginning of his next chapter.

One of the most rewarding parts of building a team is having the opportunity to help people grow not just as trainers, but as professionals. Sometimes that growth leads them to take the next big step and build something of their own.

We’re incredibly proud of Jada as she begins this new chapter and launches her own venture in the dog training world. It has been a privilege to mentor and work alongside her, to watch her develop her skills, and to see her passion for helping dogs and their families continue to grow.

At Connected Canine, we’ve always believed that investing in good people makes the entire dog community stronger. We’re grateful to have been a part of Jada’s journey, and we’re excited to see where this next adventure takes her. She’ll always be a valued part of the Connected Canine story.
