Awesome update on a Fenloch Noir x Blue Chip Jackpot West Point pup- Fenloch Black Berry "Candy" owned by Brian Finn.
Her owner plans on skipping Junior and Senior AKC hunt tests and going straight to Master level. Said he had her entered last season for a Senior test but she came in heat 2 wks prior so they had to scratch. Between then and now, they have been putting in the work to reach the next level so figured they would just jump in - trial by fire style 🙂
Candy was sold on Limited AKC registration- but with this proof of passing health clearances, coupled with her temperament, training ability, and desire to work, she meets all of the criteria to change her AKC registration to Full- so I sent her owner the form to be completed, plus a check to cover the fee, and an addressed and stamped envelope to AKC.
Whether or not she will ever be bred is up to her owner. He may even just spay her without ever having a litter. BUT. He followed the requirements that I have and I am thankful for the information received by his doing so.
A breeding program that tests for hip and elbow dysplasia and luxating patellas is only as good as the information received on as many of the dogs as you can health test. If the only ones being done are the ones you keep, you have very limited information to base breedings on. So the more tested, the better the information.
