Vermont Farm Outpost Update 🍂

Here in Vermont, fall comes quickly—and winter can surprise us with an early November snowstorm! For now, though, the sun is warm, the humidity is low, and our barn cats are taking full advantage of every beautiful day they can comfortably spend outside.

Most of the winter, they’ll cozy up in their heated room in the barn. But for now, especially for a handsome black and white tuxie, there’s nothing quite like stretching out on a bed of warm straw in the garden and soaking up the sunshine. ☀️

A little sunshine, a little straw, and absolutely zero responsibilities: pure barn cat contentment. 🖤🤍

It’s a definitely a problem, but luckily it’s Caturday, so snooze away! 💤😹 Credit:

When a caretaker found two tiny kittens with no mom, one of our volunteers rushed to help. Sadly, one kitten had already passed away. The other—just 6 days old—was barely hanging on.

Our bottle baby specialist took Odysseus (Odie) into her care, and this little fighter quickly proved just how fragile neonatal kittens can be. 🥺

Odie arrived covered in fleas, which can be deadly for newborns because severe flea infestations can cause rapid, life-threatening anemia. Then came another frightening complication: constant bloody diarrhea, putting him at serious risk of dehydration.

He made countless trips to the vet for testing, labs and treatment, while his foster provided round-the-clock bottle feedings, probiotics and medication for his injured tail. ❤️‍🩹

And today? Odie is THRIVING! 🥳

At 6+ weeks old, his tail has healed beautifully, there’s no spinal nerve damage, his tummy troubles are improving, and he’s now 1½ pounds—right on track!

A HUGE thank you to Odie’s incredible foster, who poured so much love, time and energy into helping this tiny boy survive and thrive. Fostering truly saves lives. Just ask Odie! 🍼❤️

Would you help us continue saying YES when the next fragile kitten needs us? Your donation helps cover the veterinary care, medications, supplies and specialized care these little ones need to survive.

Every donation helps us save the next little life. Thank you for being part of Odie’s village! 🐱

✨ Three lives changed for the better! 🦷❤️

Adelina Sansom, Sascha Walton & Houdini Handsome are all sporting brighter smiles and, most importantly, can now live more comfortably and pain-free thanks to the incredible generosity of the Marion & Richard Graham Foundation ()!

Their grant covered dental care for all three cats, giving them the healthy mouths they needed and a much brighter future. We are beyond grateful for their continued support and for helping us give cats like these the care they deserve.

And now for the best news… all three are ready for adoption! 🎉

Adelina, Sascha & Houdini are healthy, happy, and waiting to find the families they’ve been dreaming of. Who’s ready to give one of these sweet faces their happily-ever-after?

Thank you, Marion & Richard Graham Foundation, for helping make these happy endings possible! ❤️

🚨 A rescue mission in the middle of a storm! 🌧️🐾

Our volunteer received a call about a mama cat and her newborn kittens who needed help. Unfortunately, the neighbor kids had been playing with the babies and giving them cow’s milk—which can be very dangerous for kittens. PSA: Cats and kittens don’t properly digest dairy, and it can cause severe diarrhea, dehydration, and other potentially life-threatening complications. 🥛🚫

And because this rescue wasn’t complicated enough, the weather decided to join in! There was even a tornado warning that day, so our volunteer rushed into action.

Upon arrival, there was another problem: Mama had apparently decided to relocate her babies. We think the intense storm and all the activity around her kittens scared her, and she moved them to separate hiding spots. Our volunteer searched every bush, nook, cranny, and potential hiding place until—one by one—ALL the babies were found!

Thanks to Team MEOW, this little family is now safe and sound in foster care. ❤️ Mama doesn’t have to worry about storms, milk, or finding safe hiding spots anymore—her only job now is taking care of her babies until they’re big enough for adoption.

And the best part? Because we spay and neuter every cat in our care, this will be Mama’s LAST litter! 🎉

One very relieved mama. A whole bunch of safe babies. And no more litters born on the street for this girl.

Kovu & Kiara have found their forever home, and these bonded siblings are doing great! They spent their first few days playing a very convincing game of “You can’t see us, we live in the utility closet now”, but once they got comfortable, they started exploring their new digs like they owned the place!

Kovu is ALL about mealtime 🍽️, while adventurous Kiara is busy checking out every nook and cranny. And, of course, both have discovered the two most important parts of any new home: playtime and excellent napping spots.

Congrats, cuties! Here’s to a lifetime of love, happiness, and being thoroughly spoiled! 💕

Meet Raven! 🖤 This sweet 9 year old has the tiny body of a kitten and the personality of a grandma.

She loves making biscuits, requesting warm hugs, taking naps, and—most importantly—having her personal space. Raven will happily claim a cozy corner as her safe spot, then venture out for petting and dining services. If she approves, you’ll be rewarded with some seriously loud purrs!

This wise old soul would love a peaceful home as your one and only, or with calm pets who understand boundaries.

ADOPTED!

Quint has found his forever home! This boy has traded in one city for another, and is officially living his best life as a Brooklyn cat.

He’s doing great, and his new sisters—one pup & one cat—love him, too! 🐶🐱💕 Sure sounds like Quint hit the jackpot.
