How it started and how it’s going 🌟

Two months ago we got a call about newborns, hours old, and mom passed away. These babies were challenging to say the least. Many vet visits, constipation, issues etc. We sadly lost Graham early on but Preeti and Quincy beat the odds and are almost ready for adoption!

They have the most amazing foster that spent many many sleepless nights and worry-filled days caring for them. ❤️

Keep an eye on the website in the next few weeks for when their bios drop!

McAllister: Dreaming of warmth after a life in the cold!

For two long years, McAllister made a life out of nothing but grit and hope. This bright orange boy survived behind a fast‑food drive‑thru, slipping between crates and hiding near the hum of passing cars, living on scraps and whatever luck offered him. Every night he curled up against metal and concrete, imagining what it might feel like to be warm on purpose, to be fed without scavenging, to be loved without earning it through survival.

Now that he’s safe indoors, you can see the truth he carried through every hard day: McAllister was always meant to be someone’s cat. He leans into gentle touch like he’s memorizing it, purrs with the relief of a boy who finally gets to rest, and watches the world with a softness that somehow survived everything he endured. He wants a home where he can stretch out in sunbeams instead of shadows, where meals arrive in bowls instead of dumpsters, and where he can finally trade survival for belonging.

McAllister is ready for the life he’s been dreaming of — one where he’s not just getting by, but finally getting to live.

💚💙 Christopher update

Ok the big reveal…

I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING 🥳

I dropped him off at 11 and picked him up around 7pm. He had the following done:

👉Ultrasound-report isn’t back yet
👉Texas A&M GI panel-takes a few weeks to come back
👉Full bloodwork and urinalysis-takes a few days
👉Extensive f***l PCR-takes time to come back
Fluid drawn from abdomen-takes a few days to come back

So I still have no idea what’s going on.
For the ultrasound they called me during and said they unexpectedly found a fair amount of free fluid and asked to sample it.

Initial u/s review showed
👉possible slow stomach motility
👉portions of the intestines dilated
👉Lymph nodes surrounding or adjacent to the stomach enlarged
👉fluid that shouldn’t be there

They’ll call me with the results as they come in. I know I wanted answers today but I should know better 😞

I’m still extremely worried about him.

His bill today was $2,300 😫

⭐️ FOSTERS NEEDED ⭐️

🫪”I could never foster” ~ there is an estimated 400,000 stray cats in Philadelphia and shelters are overflowing!
🤔”I already have a cat or cats” or “My cat doesn’t like other cats“~ a foster kitty can stay in a spare room separate from your pets!
🫣”I don’t have the space” ~ even a bathroom set up can save a life!

Other than always needing foster homes for new intakes, we have several kitties who can really benefit from a foster home. Either they are at the adoption center or maybe not quite in the right foster home.

Here are some of our kitties who are waiting for you to come through for them!

🤍 🤍 POLLYANNA & BEAR: A senior bonded pair who were left behind in an apartment when their owner passed. They were found by construction crews doing repairs. They are currently at the adoption center and they really could use a cozy room after everything they went through! Also, UP FOR ADOPTION!

🖤🤍 PHIL: He was lost two years ago and spent that time living in a junk filled alley. He was being fed by many neighbors but if someone would have just taken an extra step to help him, they would have found he was microchipped. Sadly, his owner did not want him back anyway. But that extra effort can return a lost cat to their owner and avoid unnecessary struggle (any vet will scan free for a microchip). He is currently at the adoption center but is a bit nervous there. He also needs a dental which is coming up so Phil needs a better place to recover!

🤎🖤 MIDNIGHT: We learned that she was tossed out by the landlord and has been living outside for about a year. We also learned from others in the home, that the owner (who no longer lives there) abused her as a kitten. Midnight is very traumatized and needs a foster to work with her! She needs to remember she can trust humans and receive the love she deserves!

🧡🧡CORELY: She was found as a recent TNR, very hungry and looking very skinny. We are learning that she gets overstimulated very easily which translates into hissing and swatting. She wants pets and is being affectionate but also very defensive. We can only imagine what trauma she has faced to lend to this behavior. She needs a patient and willing person to help her work through this!

These are just a few cats among several others that need a foster! You can apply at www.straycatrelieffund.org
