This little ray of orange sunshine is Rubio! We’re not gonna lie, everyone is a pretty big fan 😍 He’s a lovely little senior ham, and he’s ready to spend his golden years with YOU! His hobbies include:

🍞 Loafing on bags/boxes/anything rectangular
👀“Hunting” for his treats when his foster parents toss them across the room
☀️ Finding sun spots to lay in
🍑 B***y scritches
🚗Late night zoomies
🪟Looking out the window to watch the daily street drama
👹Saving you from the monster under the blanket — aka your feet if he sees them move under said blanket.

Rubio is around 12 years old and takes an easy daily hyperthyroid medication that can be applied topically to his ear. If you’re looking for a kind and gentle companion to cozy up with, reach out about this sweet boy today!

Weekend plans? Join us in the 'burbs! Drop by Glanzmann Subaru this Saturday, October 24 from 12-2 to meet Starfish and other adoptable pets and learn about PAWS programs and services. If you can't adopt but still want to help, we'll also be collecting essential shelter supplies such as dog and cat food, wet kitten food, cat litter, paper towels, and laundry detergent. Come say hello and meet your new best friend! 🐾

It may not look like it, but this is a big deal! Poor Esther has been very overwhelmed since arriving at the shelter, and would barely let anyone near her for her first couple days. With some time to adjust and encouragement from our shelter techs, she’s finally feeling comfortable enough to come to the front of her cage for affection — but what she really needs is a foster home where she can truly feel safe and come back out of her shell.

Esther was recently returned from her adoptive home after a lot of changes occurred in a short period of time — a big move, her senior best cat friend passed away, and her owners had twins. It became clear that Esther was incredibly stressed by these changes, to the point that it started affecting her litter box habits after years with no issues. Her owners opted to return her to PAWS so a less busy home could be found for her — ideally without a household of very young kiddos!

Esther would love to find a calm, quiet place to land, with a foster parent who can give this sweet granny multiple litter boxes to choose from. Esther is 10 years old, already spayed, and an absolute fiend for catnip. If you’d like to welcome this calico cutie, email [email protected] for more info!

Calling all husky lovers! Snow Pea is a floofy little sprout with stunning good looks, a heart full of love, and a serious case of the zoomies. A husky through and through, she’s looking for a savvy foster or adopter ready to keep her busy, engaged, and thriving!

This gorgeous girl has already won the hearts of PAWS staff & volunteers with her charming personality and affectionate nature. Huskies are known for their playful antics, boundless energy, and love for their people, and Snow Pea is no exception! She’s a social butterfly who loves to nuzzle in for pets and hang out with her favorite humans. Like any classic Husky, she’ll thrive with plenty of exercise, mental enrichment, and patient guidance — without enough to keep her busy, her mischievous side might steal the show!

Ready to add some Husky hilarity to your life? Snow Pea is looking for someone who can join her on her adventures, embrace her goofy side, and give her the guidance she needs to shine. Super Freak? More like super sweet! Meet Rick James 😍

This handsome older gentleman is all about the cozy life. He’s more into cuddles than crazy antics, and would never disrespect your couch — those are for napping! Rick’s favorite hobbies include exploring the house, snoozing in warm cat beds and pet caves, and climbing onto your chest for cuddles. He may take a little time to warm up, but once you’re his person, expect sweet head rubs, adorable morning meows, and plenty of heart-to-heart conversations. He’s a laid-back lover, not a fighter!

Rick gets along wonderfully with the resident senior cat and senior dogs in his foster home, and has done well with older children as well. He enjoys being brushed, using his scratch boards, birdwatching from the top of his cat tower, and playing hide-and-seek (though he’ll probably be napping under a chair by the time you find him).

Rick eats a special prescription diet to help manage his IBS, but what he really needs is a loving forever home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who’ll greet you at the door and make your lap his favorite place, Rick James is ready rock your world!
