Friends I found in Fordhook farm
🐝We got to go to explore a private garden during class.
🐛On slides 1 and 2 is a Monarch butterfly caterpillars! This is the larval stage of the Monarch butterfly. They eat lots of milk w**d in preparation to become a butterfly and migrate.
🕷I found many different spiders including jumping spiders and orb weavers. On slide 4 is a Phidippus audax jumping spider aka a Bold jumper! Spiders are super important in the ecosystem and keeping the insect populations uncontrol while looking beautiful and adorable!
🐝In the happiness garden I found so many different pollinators includding lots of butterflies and bees! Seen on slides 1, 3, 4, and 7. They are so important for the environment!
🐌On slide 6 I found my first ever slug in nature! I was so excited to find it i shoved myself into bushes to get a picture!
🌿On slide 3 I found an isopod! They are super important as they decompose organic matter and improve soil structure! In the spider happy we call them the cleanup crew for enclosures as they help with mold control and cleaning up extra food waste!
