New Team Member Alert!!

Get to know Claire, our new Veterinary Technician at our Northern Liberties clinic! She is attentive, detail oriented, and truly a team player. Claire has a real passion for working together to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems - a real need in vet med where answers aren’t straight forward! Outside of work, she enjoys biking, going on strolls, and attending to her variety of animals at home (a dog, a cat, two birds, a snake, a bearded dragon, and two tarantulas).
We’re thrilled to have Claire aboard and excited about what she’ll bring to our team and the broader LCV Community!

You can learn more about Claire on the Team Page on our website (link in bio).

From Dr. Lenahen:
“Going through pregnancy is a journey. This time around for me, it’s been awesome to have someone going through the same stuff I was/am along the way! I can honestly say Dr. Frerotte is going to be an absolutely amazing mom. Here’s to two new kids hopping in the LCV wagon this fall!”

Note: Drs. Lenahen and Frerotte will be out on maternity leave this fall. Trust that the rest of our team is geared up to support your pets needs during this time!

Additionally, check out our blog from Dr. Lenahen about tips in terms of introducing your baby to your pet(s).

Back to school is hard on everyone…pets included!
👇Read below for some helpful tips navigating this transition period.

1. Give pets a job while you’re gone. Enrichment (puzzles, stuffed Kongs, etc.) and “sniffaris” are great tools.
2. Add a midday break if your schedule allows it. A check in from you or your neighbor can go a long way to avoid long stretches of loneliness.
3. When to see us? Think house accidents after the first to second week (in animal that go outside), refusal to eat food they love when alone, excessive barking that your neighbors complain about.
4. Cats can notice the change around the house too - come see us if there’s over grooming, litter box changes, or increased attention seeking in previously more independent cats.

Peek our blog for more details and answers to your FAQs from Dr. Palis.

Our friends and clients helped us put together this banger reel footage to help address this important topic of separation anxiety!

Your cat(s) deserve a team that really gets them!
😻😻😻 Read caption below for more tips on how to prep your cat for a vet visit 👇

1. Choosing the right carrier is key!!
We like hard sided top loading ones!

2. Leave the carrier out before appointment for a couple days. Try hiding treats inside the carrier for some day to day enrichment and fun!

3. Consider calming pheromone sprays.
These can work to mimic pheromones cats use to mark spaces as safe!
