A huge thank you to the amazing team at VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia for welcoming Dr. Harathi Krishnan for a Breakfast & Learn! 🥐☕

Over breakfast, Dr. Krishnan spent the morning discussing feline ocular diseases, sharing practical tips, answering questions, and even diving into a few real cases the team had recently encountered. These conversations are one of our favorite ways to collaborate, learn from one another, and strengthen the care we provide to our shared patients.

At Philadelphia Animal Specialty & Emergency, our goal is to be more than just a referral hospital - we strive to be an extension of your team. 🐾 Escalators and curious paws don't always mix! 🐾
Meet Dora, who recently visited PASE's Emergency Department after one of her nails became caught in an escalator. 💔 Thankfully, her family acted quickly and brought her in for immediate care.

Dr. Valerie King carefully examined Dora, cleaned and treated her injured paw, and addressed her torn nail. To help reduce the risk of infection, her foot was soaked in a chlorhexidine bath to eliminate harmful bacteria before she was sent home with pain medication and antibiotics to help her heal comfortably.

We're happy to report that Dora is on the road to recovery! ❤️

⚠️ Pet Safety Tip: Escalators can pose a serious risk to pets' paws and nails. Avoid escalators for all sized dogs. Always carry or use elevator.

Meet Ann, one of the dedicated Emergency & Critical Care Coordinators at Philadelphia Animal Specialty & Emergency (PASE).

When pets arrive at PASE during some of their most critical moments, Ann is one of the compassionate faces helping guide both patients and their families through the journey. From coordinating care with our emergency and critical care teams to keeping communication flowing, she plays an essential role in making sure every pet receives the attention they need.

Her kindness, organization, and unwavering dedication help create a seamless experience during what can be an incredibly stressful time for pet owners. Behind every patient is a team working together, and Ann is a vital part of that team.

🎉🐾 Please help us congratulate Georgia on graduating from chemotherapy! 🎓💙

Georgia and her dad proudly filled our lobby with the sound of the chemo bell as they celebrated this incredible milestone. It was a moment we were so excited to share with them!

Georgia was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone tumor affecting her right hind leg. She underwent a hind limb amputation with our surgery team, led by Dr. Samuel, and shortly afterward began her chemotherapy journey with our oncology team.

From the very beginning, Georgia has faced every challenge with remarkable courage. She has adjusted beautifully to life on three legs and hasn't let anything slow her down. Whether she's spending quality time with her family or joining her dad on runs, Georgia continues to embrace life with the same happy spirit that has inspired all of us.

Georgia, we are so incredibly proud of you and everything you've accomplished. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. Congratulations on completing chemotherapy - we can't wait to see all the adventures that lie ahead! 💙🐾

At PASE, caring for one another is just as important as caring for our patients.

This week, our Head of Anesthesia & Analgesia, Dr. Katie Zatroch, shared something truly special with our team - beautiful, locally homegrown flowers from her own garden! 🌼🌷

Team members had the opportunity to create their own bouquets to take home, bringing a little color, joy, and relaxation to the people who spend every day caring for pets and their families.

Behind every successful emergency shift is a team of dedicated professionals, and Dr. Laura Romano is one of the incredible veterinarians who helps make it happen.

As one of our Emergency & Critical Care doctors, Dr. Romano leads with compassion, patience, and expertise, even during the busiest overnight shifts. Whether she's caring for critically ill patients, mentoring technicians and interns, or stepping in wherever she's needed, she consistently goes above and beyond for both her patients and her team.

Her calm demeanor, willingness to teach, and unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care have earned the respect and appreciation of everyone who works alongside her.
