George’s journey got a little more complicated. 💔

Last week, we took George to Washington Ave Animal Hospital for x-rays ahead of his scheduled hernia surgery. We were hoping for answers that would help him move forward with treatment, but instead we discovered yet another medical concern.

In addition to his large inguinal hernia, George has a completely dislocated hip.
Thankfully, his hernia isn’t quite as urgent or dangerous as we initially feared. Because George’s hernia is so large, his veterinary team has decided the best course of action is to address one issue at a time.

George is now scheduled to return to Forgotten Cats next week for his hernia repair. Once he’s fully recovered and his surgical site has healed, he’ll be referred to Providence Animal Center for an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) to repair his hip.

Through it all, George continues to be the sweetest little kitten. He purrs through everything and has no idea how many people are rooting for him.

While we’re relieved to have a plan, George still has a long road ahead, and his medical expenses continue to grow. We’re committed to giving him every chance at a pain-free, happy life.
