We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nelson to our Heart + Paw Callowhill team! She is excited to meet you and your pets and is now accepting new clients. Get to know her by reading her bio below:

Dr. Emily Nelson grew up in the greater Philadelphia area and earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, following graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship in New Jersey.

Since graduating, Dr. Nelson has gained experience in general practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine, allowing her to provide compassionate, well-rounded care for her patients and their families. She is passionate about small animal medicine and enjoys building lasting relationships with both pets and their parents.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nelson enjoys exploring new restaurants and attending concerts in Philadelphia, traveling, and spoiling her two cats, Ryland and Felli. She is excited to join the team at Heart + Paw and looks forward to caring for the community’s pets.

Welcome, Caitlin! We are excited to introduce a great addition to our Callowhill Style team! Caitlin is accepting new clients.

Caitlin comes to Heart + Paw with many years of experience in the pet industry, more than half as a professional stylist. She launched her grooming career after working as a pet sitter and dog walker; a client had expressed an interest in opening a mobile grooming unit and offered to put Caitlin through training to run it.
When not hanging out with her furry friends at Callowhill, Caitlin spends her free time with her two dogs, a cane corso named Mazikeen and a lab mix named Bocephus, as well as a regal jumping spider named Ricochet . Caitlin enjoys hiking with the dogs, exploring the mountains, and experiencing as many summits as possible with Bo. Never seeing the same view twice, they have traveled all over Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Viriginia, and as far as Canada.
A lover of poodle grooms, Caitlin enjoys the vast variety of poodle cuts from modern outlines to more vintage, retro trims. She is excited to be part of the Callowhill Style team and is available for both dog and cat grooming.

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Steven Kelly to our Heart + Paw - Callowhill team! Dr. Kelly is accepting new clients! Read his bio below and book a visit with him now.

Dr. Kelly first became interested in veterinary medicine after his freshman year at The College of New Jersey. He worked as a kennel staff member at a small animal veterinary hospital during summer break and he fell in love with veterinary medicine.

After graduating from The College of New Jersey, he went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kelly decided to stay in Philadelphia following veterinary school and joined Heart + Paw in 2023. His clinical interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and dermatology.

In his spare time, Dr. Kelly enjoys traveling with his fiancé Meghan, sampling some of the many fine craft b**r breweries in Philadelphia, playing sports, running, and playing with his Pit Bull Bindi and cat Pickles.
