Central Texas Animal Hospital Central Texas Animal Hospital opened in Pflugerville in 1980. We offer high quality veterinary care.

Central Texas Animal Hospital has been providing high-quality medical care for cats and dogs since 1980. Dr. Daryl Neans, our owner, started the practice in Pflugerville after graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. We have 4 doctors who practice progressive Veterinary Medicine, including Extended Vaccine Protocols. We provide extensive laboratory services, including ultrasound, radiology, and in-house bloodwork. We also provide dental care, surgical services, laser therapy, and wellness care. Our groomer, Janice Francis, has been with us for over 20 years. It is our goal to be a well-rounded resource for our clients.

Today we are honoring 46 years of Central Texas Animal Hospital.

What began as a commitment to caring for pets and families has grown into a legacy of service, trust, and community.

Dr. Neans helped build more than a clinic. He helped create a place where generations of pets could be cared for with knowledge, compassion, and respect.

That foundation still guides us.

As CTAH continues forward, we are grateful for the history behind us, the team beside us, and the pet families who have trusted us through the years.

That constant scratching is not something to ignore.

Pets can deal with allergies just like people do, but the signs often show up on the skin. You may notice licking paws, red ears, scratching, chewing, rubbing the face, hair loss, or changes in smell.

Fall can still trigger allergy issues in Central Texas.

The sooner we understand what is causing the irritation, the sooner your pet can get relief.

The humans are calling it fall. I am calling it prime window watching season.

The air feels different, the routines are shifting, and everyone seems very concerned about pumpkins, costumes, and seasonal decorations.

A quick reminder from your favorite clinic cat. Pets are curious. Decorations, plants, candy, candles, and new foods should be kept out of reach.

I personally inspect everything. Your pets may do the same, with less professional judgment.

Cooler weather does not mean parasites are gone.

Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes can still be active in fall, especially here in Central Texas. That means pets still need consistent protection, even when summer feels like it is winding down.

Stopping prevention too early can leave your dog or cat exposed to itching, skin irritation, tick borne disease, and heartworm risk.

The safest plan is the consistent one.

If you are not sure which prevention is best for your pet, ask us at your next visit. Our team can help you choose what fits their needs.
