What an incredible weekend at the 2026 International Dog Sports Championship at PepperJack's Plunge!
We were so excited as entries came in, nearly double of what we have for a regular event. However I was a bit nervous as to where we were going to put everyone 😀
It takes a village and our village showed up huge. A very big thank you to the following:
Jenny Pike for coming down from Dallas to help judge the event. This allowed our other judge Danielle to jump her own dogs and myself to broadcast the live stream.
Thank you to Heidi Mobley from The Leap Dock Diving for offering her assistance throughout the weekend. It was much appreciated.
To Rita Garcia with Rita Marie Studios, who not only competed, but spent all three days in the blazing sun being our event photographer and putting together a wonderful Wondercide raffle basket. We look forward to seeing your pictures soon.
To my wife Shelley Stone-Corona who was the International Dog Sports liaison coordinating everyone to the dock throughout the weekend. Her organizational talents are just amazing. She also did a wonderful job with our gift bags for all of our competitors.
Thank you to Danielle Prince and Rachel Townsend for keeping us hydrated and fed all weekend long.
And now onto the results from our little dock that could. All in all we had 19 incredible teams advance to Championship Sunday!
We’d first like to recognize PepperJack’s very first Junior Handler to compete in the IDS championships. Lukas and Pickett made a great team up on the dock and we look forward to seeing him continue on with his dock diving journey.
Besides the tremendous results that we previously shared on Friday in the Velocity and Eclipse events, the weekend was all about distance in the Horizon event. Saturday were the qualifying jumps to make it into 1 of 7 tiers for Sunday’s 24 dog Open bracket challenge. Rounding out Saturday were the Lap and Legend Horizon finals.
WOW, did PepperJack’s ever represent!
Congratulations to the following handlers and their dogs!
🥇 1st Place in the Horizon Lap Division
Aimee Velasquez Neugebauer & Whimzy
🥈 2nd Place in the Horizon Lap Division
Rachel Townsend & Iris
🥉 3rd Place in the Horizon Lap Division
Danielle Prince & Kizmet
A CLEAN SWEEP in the Top Tier of the Lap event!
In the Tier 4 Legend class, congratulations to Danielle & YYuma taking 🥉3rd Place on the podium.
After some intense competition on Saturday, the tiers were set for Sunday and we’re proud to announce the following placements in the Open Horizon class:
Taking 🥇 1st Place in Tier 2 were Kris Troxtell and Ryder.
In Tier 6 and taking the top spot on the podium:
🥇 1st Place Rachel Townsend & Stitch
There was some intense competition amongst friends in the top Tier 7 division between Cindy Dalton with Salsa, Lindsay Sinclair with Meli, Tammy Montgomery with Riggins and Pennie Wells Mahon with Golden Eagle.
In the end with a new PepperJack’s Plunge and IDS Horizon record was:
🥇 1st Place Tammy Montgomery & Riggins with a jump of 34’ 2” and in the prior round set the records at 34’ 3”!!
🥈 2nd Place Pennie Wells Mahon & Golden Eagle with a beautiful jump of 33’
We would like to thank ALL our competitors for a wonderful weekend of great competition, camaraderie, and laughs. What really made the weekend special however was seeing the support and encouragement that everyone showed towards each other. Even in the extreme heat, everyone cheered whenever a team took to the dock. We truly enjoy our friends in the dock diving community and look forward to seeing you on the dock next season.
