The theme of October is divide and conquer. Jeremy headed west this past weekend to Grahamville, KY for a Qualifier and Bow stayed in HRC mode and took a crew to the Central Kentucky test in Berea. They may have been on opposite ends of the state, but the goal is always the same. Push and support every dog to succeed at their highest level!

The Qualifier near Paducah was a new one for us and it was challenging! BIG water was the name of the game. Baker came away with his first ribbon in the form of a JAM and Fern received a Reserve Jam. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to create a challenging test that allowed us to push our limits.

Bow took dogs at all levels to one of our favorite places! The grounds were authentic for a hunt, and the hot blind was a fun challenge. The hospitality, workers, and judges are always exceptional—and we are so grateful for them all.

Our crew went 15/16 and came away with three new titles! Congratulations to HRCH Roly, HRCH Blu, and HR Winnie! They made it look easy and we are just so proud to stand beside them!

What a time we had at the 2026 Fall Grand in Missouri! It was a HOT start for everyone with a heat index over 105 degrees. The production of any Grand is A LOT, but in that heat so much could have gone wrong. Adding flights to reduce the numbers, having judges who created difficult and technical tests while accounting for the heat and effort for the dogs made it work. While we are always appreciative of the workers, bird techs, event staff, judges and all the Grand committee—this year was especially trying because of the elements. THANK YOU for making it happen. 1027 dogs signed up. 951 stood at the line. THANK YOU for ensuring the heat did not harm any of those 951 dogs.

Bow and Jeremy stood beside 17 exceptional dogs and 16 of those dogs are coming back home with a PASS! Three received their very first pass (Phoenix, Rooster, and Timber). FOUR new GRHRCH Titles (Josie, Jade, Trixie, and Legend). We couldn’t chase these dreams without the best dogs and owners! Our training group is second to none, and these events allow us to not only train together, but also share meals together, support each other, and make each other better.

Some fun facts about our crew:

—Rooster was the second youngest dog with a grand pass this year! He was the youngest to do it on 2’s! He turned 2 in August! Big things to come for Roo dog!
—Jeremy had the highest pass percentage of all handlers with more than 6 dogs.
—Poppy jumped from HRCH to 3X GRHRCH passing this grand.
—Baker the BEAST is 4 years old and has FIVE grand passes! 100% pass rate!
—Three dogs—Fern, Nash, and Bolt now have enough passes to enter the Hall of Fame—they just need the points.
—We have THE BEST TEAM!

Made a last minute, and justifiably crazy, decision to run a Qualifier in Owensboro this weekend. A week before the Grand. During pre-Grand training. AND…..added TWO new QA2 Titles!

The Green River club put on a great qualifier! Each series had very challenging elements, and the grounds were perfect! There were 32 very talented dogs that came to the line and we closed out the top two spots. Ash came away with the Blue and Cosby the Red!

We were feelin’ HOT, HOT, HOT this weekend! Jeremy, Bow, and 20 four legged athletes showed up big at Tri-State HRC. It is always one of our favorite trips of the year! The tests were challenging and fair, the workers always consistent, the grounds beautiful, and we appreciate the judges doing their work and building tests to minimize stress under the 108 degree heatwave!

We are proud to celebrate two titles from the weekend! Miss Grace earned her seasoned title with two excellent runs. Hank came away with his HRCH title! Hank is 22 months old and ran the table with four straight finished passes!

What a great weekend! The Jim Manson memorial SRS at beautiful Abby’s farm was another one for the books! We had a full field of dogs and they came to compete! We are so proud that at the end of four TOUGH series NASH (3XGRHRCH UH Nash MH, owned by John & Molly Nordheim) came out with a second place finish and gave us our hat trick qualification for the Crown. To get there, Nash had to load into a pink Gunner, only to be outdone when Jeremy jumped on top of that Gunner to get him where he needed to be for a great finish. Being unconventional makes this SRS game a fun one!!

What a great (and hot) weekend at Bourbon Hills Master test in Onton, KY for Bow and a crew of hard working dogs. The club put on a great three series that ran so efficiently that we finished in one day! Thank you to all the workers and club members who got it done! Three series in one day can be a challenge for some dogs, but we pulled it out and went 5/5, including a Master Hunter TITLE for Miss Josie and a first Master pass for Trixie!

Here we go again celebrating FIRSTS! What a weekend at the Backwater Retriever Club SRS—their inaguaral event. They put on four great series—thank you judges and club members for having us!

We get to celebrate our FIRST SRSC title! Not once, but twice! Cosby brought home FIRST place, giving him the points for his SRSC title! Ash was a close second, and pairing that with her recent first place finish gives her the SRSC title, too!

Looking in the rear view mirror, it’s just been a short time that we ran our very first SRS and laid a plan to get better! We are so grateful to be able to do this with such great owners and athletes. What a big family we have.

The last couple weeks have been busy ones, with an AKC Master test in the rear view. No matter how long we play these games, what events we attend, we always arrive and leave grateful to be able to be there in the midst of such great clubs, members, and workers, and most of all the people who make up the dog world.

Rooster and Jade secured master passes at the Greater Pittsburgh Club’s event in Chardon, OH., Rooster’s first pass and Jade’s third. They ran THREE series in ONE day!

We sure do love celebrating FIRSTS around here! This weekend brought some big ones. Ash’s FIRST SRS win, Jeremy’s FIRST SRS win, Cosby’s FIRST SRS placement! FIRST time to qualify for the crown championship! In a game full of surprises, we sure had a great weekend!

Getting into the SRS game isn’t an opportunity we have taken lightly. Learning to evaluate and execute at the line is an evolving contest of patience and concentration. Teaching and preparing dogs for the wide variety of scenarios continues to be both challenging and rewarding. Ultimately, we love it because it makes us better. It makes our dogs better and more capable!

We have immense gratitude for the SRS organization. The West Allis Training Club in Wisconsin put on one heck of an event that threw us into all kinds of difficult set ups in each series. Great grounds and even better people.

This weekend full of memories will surely last! Congratulations to these two outstanding athletes and their owners! Blessed to stand beside them.

The HRC International Grand is one of the biggest weeks of the year for a lot of people in the dog world. SO much hard work goes into putting on this event, and we are so appreciative of that. The two host clubs did a fantastic job of keeping things moving. With the help of the KY Department of Fish & Wildlife, the grounds have never looked better. The judges designed challenging tests and held dogs to a grand level standard. Tests ran smoothly thanks to club members, grand committee members, and who knows how many volunteers and bird techs. Thank you!

Jeremy and Bow ran 14 exceptional dogs. 12 of those dogs came back home with a PASS! Three received their very first pass (Jade, Trixie, and Legend). TWO new GRHRCH Titles (Reno & Poppy), and Cosby’s 6th pass also put him in the Hall of Fame. We are so grateful to stand beside these dogs who give us their all at the line every single time. We couldn’t chase these dreams without the best dogs, owners who believe in the sport, our training group (BEST around), and the support from our behind the scenes crew (looking at you Kate, Lynne, Cindy, Jeni, Julian, Em, Mere …..)
