❤️ A Road to Recovery! 🐾
This sweet girl recently underwent a splenectomy and spay surgery with Dr. Patrolia here at Petal Animal Clinic after her owners brought her in because she seemed to be constipated and in pain.
After her examination and further diagnostics, a mass was discovered on her spleen, making surgery necessary to remove the affected spleen. She also underwent her spay procedure during the same surgery. Thankfully, she is already on the road to recovery and doing well! 🐶💕
While constipation can sometimes be a minor issue, changes in your pet’s bathroom habits—especially when accompanied by pain or other concerning symptoms—shouldn’t be ignored.
🚨 Signs to watch for include: Straining or difficulty passing stool, going longer than usual without a bowel movement, pain or discomfort, a swollen or painful abdomen, vomiting or loss of appetite, lethargy or weakness, changes in behavior!
Some abdominal conditions may not be obvious from the outside, which is why a veterinary examination and appropriate diagnostics are so important when something seems off. We’re so happy this sweet girl is recovering and feeling better! ❤️ Give her some extra love from all of us at Petal Animal Clinic! 🐾
