What a great week down in Texas!

I’m really thankful for the opportunity to spend the week learning from Matt Smith and working in his shop. I picked up a ton during the class and I’m excited to bring it all back to my own shop.

To top it all off, we were able to get out and have a successful hog hunt while I was down there. Definitely a week I won’t forget!

Big thanks to Matt for taking the time to teach me and to everyone who continues to support me and Beards & Bands. I truly appreciate it.

Have a great & blessed week everyone.
God bless.

There’s a lot more to this one than just a turkey mount.

I had the opportunity to do this wing & fan mount for a good friend of mine’s boy and his first bird. Getting to be a small part of a young hunter’s first successful turkey hunt and preserving that memory for him to have for the rest of his life is what this business is all about.

These are the kind of projects that mean a little extra to me. Years from now, he’ll be able to look at this mount and remember that first bird, that hunt and the memories made along the way.

I’m truly thankful for every customer who trusts me with their trophies but getting to preserve these special moments for kids and the next generation of hunters is something I’m especially grateful for.

Thank you for trusting Beards & Bands Avian Taxidermy with such a special bird. I hope this one hangs on the wall for many, many years and always brings back a hell of a memory. 🇺🇸🦃💥

My wife & I recently purchased another property, we’ve been swamped lately & I truly apologize for not being active on here much but I’ve been busy in the shop every chance I get. I wrapped up 2 merriams this week, they had some wing and body damage to work with. I always give these birds the time and attention they deserved and pulled them back together the best I could with what I had.

Every mount has its own story, and it’s always rewarding seeing a beautiful bird come back to life and head home to the customer. Can’t wait for them to be on the wall where they belong. 🦃

Not every part of taxidermy is glamorous, but every step is important.

Today’s task: injecting turkey feet. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes details that most folks never see, but it’s essential for proper preservation. Taking the time to thoroughly treat the feet and legs helps ensure a durable, long-lasting mount and keeps the bird looking its best for years to come.

The difference between an average mount and a great one is often found in the details nobody notices at first glance. That’s why no corners get cut around here.

Every bird gets the same care and attention from start to finish. 🦃🪶💪

Wrapped up a great trip down to NC chasing turkeys and trying to put a few sharks on the sand. Can’t ask for much better than good weather, good company, and time outdoors doing what I love.

At the same time, the support back home never stopped. The phone stayed busy, messages kept coming in, and more birds are headed to the shop. I’m beyond thankful for every single customer that trusts me with their trophies and keeps Bands & Beards growing. Truly blessed by the good Lord more than I deserve.

Now it’s time to get back home, fire the shop back up, and start skinning birds. Sounds like I’ve got plenty waiting on me when I roll back in. Busy season isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

God bless
