It’s Saturday, which means it’s Mall Day!

Coraline, Wybie and Cricket are packing their tiny bags and heading out for a day at the mall, meeting new faces and hopefully finding their forever homes. They will be at our mall location from 11 AM to 2 PM today, so come by and say hi!

We also want to let everyone know that our shelter location will be closed to walk in visitors today. We are still available for scheduled appointments, so if you’d like to visit the shelter, please give us a call to set up a time.

Stella has officially started her fitness journey 💪🐱

Day 1: Got on the exercise wheel.
Day 2: Still on the exercise wheel.
Day 3: Has not moved an inch, but is absolutely exhausted from all this hard work.

She now says cardio is overrated and she’ll be accepting treats as her post workout recovery meal.

Elmore SPCA is hiring! We looking to fill a full-time kennel attendant position. Applicants must be 18+, dependable with reliable transportation, willing to work with cats and dogs of all sizes, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. This is a physically and mentally demanding indoor/outdoor job that requires working in all types of weather conditions and getting a bit dirty. Applicants MUST be available to work weekends and holidays.
We would love to see applicants with animal handling experience, basic computer skills, and customer service experience. Starting pay is $16.20/hr.

“STELLA!”

Well, hello there, dear. Yes, that’s me. I heard somebody was yelling my name, so I thought I’d come over and tell you a little about myself.

I’ve been waiting for my forever home for a little while now, and I’m quite the laid back lady. I enjoy spending my days relaxing on my couch, keeping things nice and quiet, and playing with my favorite butterfly spinner toy.

And when I say playing, I mean I lie in front of it while it repeatedly smacks me in the face. It’s very entertaining. For me, anyway.

I’m a quiet sort of girl and would do best in a home where I can relax and enjoy my peaceful little life. I don’t mind other cats either, as long as they’re more like me. Older, mellow, and carefree. Those pesky kittens are just a little too much excitement for a lady of my age.

Anyway, I suppose I’ll just be here on my couch, waiting patiently for somebody to decide they’d like to take me home. If you happen to stop by the shelter this weekend, I’d be happy to say hello ❤️

A Series of Max

Isn’t he the handsomest?

Max is one of our longest residents, and honestly… how is this handsome boy still here?

At about 3 years old, Max is a shepard hound mix with a happy personality, an adventurous nose, and a whole lot of love to give. He’s happiest when he’s outside exploring, playing fetch or tug, working on a puzzle toy, or just spending time with his people.

Max does need to be an only dog, but if he’s your one and only, you’ll have his whole heart. He’s smart, loyal, playful, and knows how to settle down and enjoy some quiet time after an adventure.

He’s been waiting long enough. We just want to see this handsome boy finally get the family he’s been waiting for 🤎
