🐾❤️ VET TECH WEEK: DAY 5 — SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST! ❤️🐾

Not all superheroes wear capes. Some wear scrubs covered in fur!

As we wrap up our Vet Tech Week celebration, we want to recognize something that goes far beyond medical knowledge and technical skills — the HEART it takes to work in veterinary medicine. 💙

Our veterinary technicians are so much more than the people assisting during appointments.

💕 They're the ones comforting nervous and frightened patients.

🐾 They're the ones giving extra cuddles and reassurance before and after procedures.

❤️ They're the ones caring for sick and injured animals when they need it most.

🥰 They're the ones celebrating recoveries, milestones, and happy endings.

🌈 They're the ones offering compassion and comfort during the hardest goodbyes.

💪 They're the ones pushing through long days, difficult cases, and emotional moments because they genuinely love what they do.

Veterinary medicine isn't always easy. It's messy, exhausting, unpredictable, rewarding, and sometimes heartbreaking. But our amazing team continues to show up and give every patient the love and care they deserve!

To our incredible veterinary technicians here at Duke Veterinary Care — THANK YOU! 💙

Thank you for the long hours, hard work, patience, dedication, and endless compassion. Thank you for loving our patients like your own and for being such an important part of our veterinary family.

Your hard work may not always be seen, but it NEVER goes unnoticed or unappreciated!

We couldn't do what we do without you! 🐾❤️

Help us finish Vet Tech Week by showing our amazing team some LOVE in the comments!

🔬🐾 VET TECH WEEK: DAY 3! 🐾🔬

Today's spotlight: Our behind-the-scenes laboratory detectives! 🕵️‍♀️🐶

Did you know veterinary technicians play a major role in helping veterinarians figure out what's going on with your pet?

Our technicians help by:

🩸 Collecting and preparing blood samples

🔬 Running laboratory tests

💩 Performing f***l examinations

🦠 Looking for parasites under the microscope

🧪 Performing urinalysis and other diagnostic tests

🩻 Assisting with X-rays and diagnostic procedures

It's not all puppy kisses and kitten cuddles! Sometimes it's microscopes, blood samples, and a whole lot of p**p! 💩😂

Our technicians work hard to help provide the information veterinarians need to diagnose and treat your furry family members.

Thank you to our amazing techs for being the detectives of veterinary medicine!💙🐾

🩺🐾 VET TECH WEEK: DAY 2! 🐾🩺

Did you know veterinary technicians are the nurses of veterinary medicine?

While you may see them helping during appointments, there's SO much more happening behind the scenes!

💉 Administering medications and treatments

🩸 Drawing blood and placing IV catheters

❤️ Monitoring vital signs and patient recovery

💧 Providing fluid therapy

🩹 Caring for hospitalized and recovering patients

🐶 Making sure every patient is comfortable and cared for

Our technicians are constantly monitoring, assessing, and advocating for patients who can't tell us how they're feeling.

Their knowledge, attention to detail, and compassion make a world of difference!

Today, we're giving a BIG thank-you to our incredible veterinary technicians!

🐾💙 HAPPY VET TECH WEEK! 💙🐾

Did you know veterinary technicians wear MANY different hats throughout the day?

Our amazing technicians are nurses, dental assistants, anesthetists, laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, patient advocates, and sometimes even professional puppy snugglers!

From the moment your pet walks through our doors until the moment they head home, our technicians play a HUGE role in their care.

They are the helping hands, comforting voices, and compassionate hearts behind so much of what we do here at Duke Veterinary Care!

This week, we're shining the spotlight on these incredible individuals and all the hard work they put in every single day!

Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

🐾 Meet Waffle! 🐾

This adorable little guy is Waffle, a 9–10 week old male kitten who came to us from a staff member’s barn with a badly injured eye. Unfortunately, his eye needed to be removed—but don’t let that fool you! Waffle hasn’t let it slow him down one bit. ❤️

Waffle is spunky, sassy, playful, and absolutely full of personality! 😸 He’s already showing everyone that he has plenty of love and adventure left to share.

Waffle has:
🐾 Started his feline distemper vaccine series
🐾 Tested negative for FIV and FeLV
🐾 Been dewormed
🐾 Been treated for fleas and ticks
🐾 Had his injured eye surgically removed and is recovering like a champ!

Now, Waffle is looking for something he really deserves: a loving forever home of his very own. 🏡❤️

If you think this one-eyed wonder might be the perfect addition to your family, please reach out to our clinic for more information about Waffle and his adoption fee/process.

Let’s help Waffle find his forever family! 🐱❤️

Please share this post to help Waffle find his perfect home! 🐾
