Peanut has a scheduled meet and greet!

🐾 We are now accepting applications for Peanut! 🐾

Peanut is a 9-pound Chihuahua looking for his perfect forever home. He would do best in a home with multiple other small dogs, as he loves having canine companions around. A secure fenced-in yard is required for his adopter.

Peanut is up to date on vaccines and is scheduled for his neuter on 6/3.

This little guy is a HUGE love bug — his favorite things include snuggling and sleeping in bed with his humans 🥴❤️

We have an incredible update on Trooper 💙

After everything he’s been through, Trooper had his long-awaited orthopedic appointment today at Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, and we are so grateful to their team for fitting him in and taking such great care of him.

The amazing news: Trooper does NOT need surgery 🙌
The vet confirmed he has two sprained wrists in his front legs. His treatment plan is simple and manageable—over-the-counter wrist braces (yes, even ones from Walmart!), along with recommended aqua therapy and joint supplements to support his healing.

Considering the traumatic fall he endured, we truly feel beyond blessed with this outcome.

We are also truly grateful to the animal control officers who helped bring Trooper to safety, and to his amazing foster, Kelly, for keeping him safe, comfortable, and loved while he healed 💕

And if that wasn’t enough good news for one day…
Trooper was ADOPTED today after his appointment by his wonderful new mom, Laren! 🏡🐾

We couldn’t be happier for him. This boy has shown nothing but resilience, strength, and love—and now he gets the forever home he deserves.

Thank you to everyone who supported Trooper’s journey. He is truly one lucky pup 💙

Update 4/19 We are holding off on accepting more applications on Brooks. He has a meet and greet scheduled!

Brooks is looking for his forever home — and whoever adopts him is getting a loyal best friend. 🐾❤️

Brooks is a 2-year-old neutered boy who is ready to find a family of his own. He’s still young, playful, and full of personality, but he also knows how to settle down and enjoy the simple things in life.

A typical day with Brooks starts around 7 AM with a potty break, followed by breakfast about 30 minutes later. He eats in his crate and has learned to sit and wait for his “okay” before digging in. Throughout the day, Brooks loves lounging on the couch, playing with his foster dog siblings, and working on manners with treats. He’s very food motivated and eager to learn, which makes training fun and rewarding.

He’s also learning to play fetch and has been doing great with letting go of toys. Brooks has a wonderful balance of being active and adventurous while also being perfectly happy to relax and cuddle at home. He would make an amazing companion for someone who loves walks, outdoor time, and then winding down together afterward.

Brooks is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night without issue. On workdays or when no one is home, he can comfortably stay crated for longer periods as long as he gets a potty break before and after. He’s house-trained and does very well with a routine.

Brooks gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has done great with my toddler. He’s gentle and trustworthy around little ones. He also behaves very well for professional grooming, which is a huge plus.

Like a lot of young dogs, Brooks has his moments where he can be a little grumbly if he’s in a mood. He’s very good at communicating when he needs a minute, and when his boundaries are respected, he settles right back down. Because of this, Brooks would do best with someone confident, patient, and experienced enough to understand dog body language and continue helping him build confidence. He seems to naturally gravitate more toward women, but he can absolutely bond with anyone willing to earn his trust.

Brooks is truly a special dog with so much love to give. He’s funny, smart, affectionate, and just waiting for the person who sees how wonderful he is.
