💛I’m Going to Let Your Child Struggle 💛

When your child comes for lessons with me, I’m going to let them struggle sometimes.

They may have never fastened a buckle on a piece of tack. A saddle might be heavy and awkward. Their lead rope may be a tangled mess. And something that would take me ten seconds might take them five minutes.

I’m not going to immediately step in and do it for them. *Unless its a safety issue.*

Because someday, I want your child to walk into the barn, catch their own horse, tack up, and head out feeling completely confident in their own abilities.

Why?

Because they’re learning that they can do hard things.

So yes, I’ll help when something is beyond a child's physical ability. I’ll encourage, demonstrate, and keep them safe.

But when they *can* do it? I’m going to give them the time to fumble with the buckle. Untangle the rope. Try again. And figure it out.

Parents, I know watching that can be hard. You’ll want to jump in and make it easier.

But sometimes the greatest gift we can give a child is not making the hard thing easier.

It’s standing beside them long enough for them to discover:

“I can do this myself.”

Reese is headed to 4-H STATES🍀🏆

Reese qualified in not one, not two, but THREE classes — Low Equitation Over Fences, Low Hunter Over Fences, AND Trail!

💙🤍Shamrock to Happy Valley! 💙🤍

We are SO proud of Reese as she heads off to Penn State to begin this exciting next chapter! Reese will be studying Mechanical Engineering and is hoping to continue her love of horses through Penn State’s Western Equestrian Team! 🐴⚙️

We’ve loved watching Reese grow both in and out of the saddle, and while we’re definitely going to miss having her around the barn, we can’t wait to see everything she accomplishes.

Good luck, Reese!! Penn State is so lucky to have you!

Aleeya took Sir Lancelot in his very first Hunter Derby and absolutely kicked Shamrock butt🍀

Alicia of Royal Ridge aboard Horizon Hill’s Corvette tackled the Modified Hunter Pro Division, where he made his big-show debut over fences. The pair put in fantastic trips and came home with some great ribbons🍀

First hot show day of the season and everyone showed up ready for it.
Long day, tired horses, sweaty humans, and somehow this team still went out there and absolutely kicked butt.
We had a few riders stepping into the show ring for the very first time, others taking on new challenges, and everyone rode their hearts out from start to finish against some tough competition.
So proud of the grit, the teamwork, and the way everyone continued to show up for each other all day long.

The ribbons came home today, but more importantly, they reflected the quality of riding in the ring.So many partnerships...

So many partnerships stepping up, trying new things, and taking on challenges with confidence.
That’s what makes us the proudest.
