Pennridge Animal Hospital was started because Dr. Heller and Dr. Mehaffey wanted to take the personal care that they have been providing to the local community to the next level. We offer affordable, high-quality medicine both at our location in Perkasie and in the comfort of your own home! Our mission is to keep your pets healthy by focusing on disease prevention. We pride ourselves on giving each pet the individual care and attention needed. We focus on client education to ensure we work as a team with you to provide the best care for you and your pet. Our state of the art hospital includes a large reception and retail area, 9 exam rooms, separate dental and surgical suites, in-house laboratory, digital radiology, in-house hospitalization, and a laser therapy machine! Woohoo!!! Friends, this is a big one - it's time to celebrate the one and only - MARK!!

As one of our nursing leads and management team members, Mark brings an incredible combination of skill, heart, leadership, and humor to PRAH—and we are so lucky to have him!

Mark has a “can-do” attitude that never quits. Whether someone needs an extra hand, a patient needs urgent care, or a challenging surgery is ahead, he is ready to jump in and do whatever needs to be done. He is an amazingly skilled nurse, an incredibly hard worker, and someone our team can always count on.

And somehow, through it all, he’s still ready with a smile or a joke! 😆 His goofy spirit and positive energy can brighten even the busiest day, and beneath that humor is a heart of gold. You can see how much he loves the animals in his care, the people around him, and the work he gets to do every day. He genuinely cares, and it shows.

Mark, your kindness, willingness to help, and steady positivity are such an important part of our team and the culture at PRAH. Thank you for showing up with your whole heart for the past 9 years. We are so grateful for you! 💙

When parasites attack....

- we have another seasonal one! This time of year there are a lot of grasses and weeds that have seeds flying around out there...that can easily get trapped in our pet's eyes! We've shared a similar story before, but this one is applicable this time of year, so it's worth a reshare!

Enter poor Talli - this cutie came in last week because her one eye was very uncomfortable and her 3rd eyelid was up - which can be a sign of irritation and pain!

Dr Peters was able to flush her eye and fish out a seed that was stuck way under her eyelid!! An easy enough fix, but something that can really cause some pain, inflammation, and damage to their cornea if it stays in there too long. She did also have a corneal ulcer forming due to the irritation, which is very common - the poor thing!

Some things to look out for: squinting, excessive tearing, pawing at their eye, redness, discharge, and the third eyelid being up! Especially if it starts suddenly, or after being outside.

Talli is on eye medications, and corneal repair drops, and some pain medications and should make a full recovery! Stay safe out there, and as always - call us if you need us!
