Why is there a picture of a horse butt on a trailer? Why does this image make my eyes well up with happy happy tears?

Let me tell you a little about Evita. She used to be absolutely terrified of loading onto a trailer, to the point that when she had to move barns it unfortunately required *a lot* of sedation and man power to lift her one leg at a time into the trailer.

Fast forward two years to today.... She calmly walked onto my trailer and stood for me to walk around the side to scratch her butt and bang the butt bar around without any worry in her eye. The trust and partnership we have built together amazes me and I feel so honored to be this mare's chosen human. She had grown mentally so much in the time I've been working with her from a mare scared of her own shadow and moving like a llama to now regularly passing for an easy going quarter horse trying to roll a peanut on the ground under saddle!

Hacking out of the ring....a commonly underrated exercise for both horse and rider. Leaving the ring exposes you and your horse to varied terrain, natural obstacles (like this very tall grass or scary puddle), and new sights all while helping to build trust in your partnership!

Can you challenge yourself to leave the ring once a week? Walking out in a fenced in field is a fantastic place to start!

Was broke Western and has been ridden English for the past 2 years.

Straightforward and honest to fences.

Schooling lateral work for dressage.

Foxhunting prospect - he did amazing out with Amwell Valley Hounds for their intro to foxhunting clinic. First time seeing the hounds and riding in that large of a group and he barely batted an eye.

Potential to become a lesson horse when he's had a few more miles put on him. Currently needs a confident intermediate to advanced rider who can tell him what his job is. He has done leadline lessons and is gentle on the ground with children.

Up to date on farrier (front shoes), vet, and dental.

Fantastic long weekend at the 2024 Horse World Expo in Harrisburg! Lucky came again to be demo horse to talk about the importance of lunge lessons and how we can improve the rider's biomechanics for a better seat. We had a ton of wonderful conversations and hope to continue the conversations throughout the year with clinics at other barns and at .farm!

For me, the most amazing and heartwarming part of the weekend was having all of Lucky's owners through his life together in one place. Lynne, his original owner, and Terri from both came out to see him and support us and were excited to hear our big goals for the coming years!

Quiet day for these two super stars after working hard the past two days with Buck Davidson. and I can't wait for him to be back. Both days were so educational and gave us more tools and confidence to build on what we learned and keep getting stronger.

I especially loved that no matter the height of jumps, Buck was able to make it challenging for any level of rider. I rode Lucky in the 3ft class and watched Kendra in poles/cavaletti with Giselle which would have been just as, if not more, challenging than the higher fences! Buck really focused on fine tuned details to make all the pieces click perfectly together for much more effortless riding.

For only his second time showing at 1st level, Lucky took home 3rd place out of 10 at championships on Sept 23rd! The weather was awful and we were all soaked within 5 minutes of being out of the stables, but it was a beautiful venue none the less. So proud of where this little guy has come and excited to continue working on our 2nd and 3rd level movements!

Not to mention, the stall he stayed in was very fitting! "Little horse with a big heart"
