As a rabbit breeder, this is something I feel very strongly about. 🐰

I understand that breeding rabbits comes with difficult situations. I understand culling, euthanasia, and that sometimes a kit is born with injuries or conditions that mean it cannot be saved. Those realities don’t make me uncomfortable.

What does bother me is the normalization of what happened in this post. This was a one-day-old kit, and the poster describes using a method they found online, with the head ultimately coming off, and then immediately looking for advice on how to put the baby back together as an oddity specimen.

Animals are not Lego characters. They aren’t disposable pieces just because they’re small, and their remains aren’t automatically raw material for someone’s next project.

Being a responsible breeder means caring about an animal’s welfare even when the outcome isn’t what we hoped for. Sometimes the most humane thing we can do is end suffering. Sometimes the respectful thing afterward is simply to let that animal rest.

I’m not anti-breeding. I’m not anti-culling. I’m not anti-oddity. I’m pro-responsible animal care. And I believe ethical sourcing should matter just as much to the people preserving animals as it does to the people breeding them. 🖤🐰 #🖤🐰🖤 ❤️❤️🐇🐇 ゚viralシ 🐰

🐰🫧 BITTY BUNNIES & CO. — RABBIT GROOMING PRICES ARE GOING DOWN! 🫧🐰

Rabbit grooming has already been available through Bitty Bunnies & Co., but I’ve decided to lower my prices because honestly, I want this service to be something people can actually afford to use. ❤️

I don’t want someone looking at their matted bunny, insanely long nails, or a rabbit shedding an entire second rabbit and thinking, “I can’t afford to get help.”

I want to help the rabbits. That’s the whole point. 🐰

And PLEASE don’t ever be embarrassed about bringing me a bunny that needs a lot of work.

Mats happen. Nails get too long. Coats get away from us. Rabbits can be stubborn little gremlins. 😂

There is absolutely no judgment here.

I have the tools and products to work with all kinds of rabbits — not just the fluffy ones! Short-haired rabbits can need serious shed-outs between molts, and nail trims are important for every bunny.

I have clippers suited for angora fiber, small clippers for paws and detail work, mat-removal tools, bunny-safe waterless shampoo, conditioner, bunny-rated detangling spray, grooming products, and a blower for blown-out coats and shedding.

🐇 MY GROOMING APPROACH

Appointments are drop-off only, and please expect your bunny to be with me for at least a few hours.

That doesn’t mean I’m grooming them nonstop.

I don’t immediately pull a rabbit out of their carrier and start handling them in ways they don’t like. I give them time to adjust to the new sounds and smells first.

Sometimes that alone can take 30 minutes or more.

I wait for them to become curious and start looking around before getting them out. Little things like this can make a HUGE difference in how the rest of the appointment goes.

If they need a break, they get a break.
If they need extra time, they get extra time.

I don’t rush rabbits. ❤️

And if you’re worried about damaging the bond you’ve worked so hard to build with your bunny, I completely understand.

Let me be the bad guy. You can stay the favorite. 😂🐰

I’ve been scratched enough times that I’ve learned not to take it personally. 😂
