The Babinski Foundation will be the model shelter in our surrounding area, making sure that we address issues of pet overpopulation via our services and provide education on how to prevent it. We also aim to prevent as many pet deaths as we can year after year. The Babinski Foundation believes in the Five Freedoms for animal welfare.

This darling brother and sister duo will bring so much joy to your life! Dixie and Garmin are 11-year-old Chihuahua mixes, with Dixie weighing in at 10 pounds and Garmin at 15. They're the perfect pair: Dixie is a quiet, clingy lap dog who always wants to be in your arms or snuggled up in her bed, while Garmin is a total goofball who is just as affectionate but still has the energy to excitedly run around with you, even in his old age! Both of these sweet seniors are potty trained and ready to join your family!

Dixie and Garmin are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their vaccines. You can visit them at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Cutie Lucy just celebrated her first birthday in the shelter - we're hoping she can celebrate the rest with a loving family! She's a 7-pound Domestic Shorthair sweetheart who loves to snuggle, roll around, and chase after toys or scratch at her post! Lucy previously lived with both dogs and cats, so she could fit into a new crew with ease. She loves to be petted and will lean right into your hands for lots of affection!

🧡 Stripe, Orange, & Brown Bear 🧡

These three gals (pictured in order) are 5-month-old German Shepherd mixes with such expressive eyes! They are sweet, playful pups who are right in the middle of their cutest, sassiest phases. While they love a good cuddle session, they also looove to wrestle, explore, and learn new things. They're so smart, so we're confident they’ll get the hang of potty training and basic commands in no time. In fact, the family of one of their adopted littermates reached out to let us know that their sister is an amazing listener who adores her fellow canine brothers and sisters. These three beautiful girls are ready to meet you!

🐟 Nemo 🐟
We’re finding Nemo impossible not to love! This 3-year-old, 8.5-pound Domestic Shorthair cat came to us as a stray, and over the past few months, we have completely fallen for this sweet, unique boy. Nemo is an affectionate and funny companion who will follow you everywhere you go, even running to catch up if you get too far ahead. He loves meeting new people and will instantly circle their legs, rubbing his head against them until he gets some well deserved cuddles. Once you start petting him, he leans in with all his strength, shoving his head right into your hands like a total lover boy.

Nemo has a couple of quirks that make him extra special, starting with his one of a kind back paw. We suspect he was either born with it or injured it very early in life, but it doesn't slow him down a bit as he waltzes around his room. He is also FIV-positive, which means his immune system is compromised. Because of this, he needs to be an indoor only cat and would do best as an only cat, or in a home with other FIV-positive cats.

Nemo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

These smiling babies are 4-month-old Dutch Shepherd and Pitty mixes! While they can be a tiny bit coy at first, they absolutely love people. The moment you start petting their chins and talking to them gently, the corners of their mouths pop up and their little tails start to wag! Once they feel comfortable, they love to run and wrestle with other puppies or hop in and out of your lap with excitement. They would do wonderfully in a home with other dogs, gentle kiddos, and loving people!

Nemo and Marlin are microchipped, vaccinated to age, and available for foster to adopt until they're old enough to be neutered at The Babinski Foundation. You can visit them at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
