MIGRATION = The Purposeful/structured walk.

Sniff walk or Sniffari - just don’t.

Potty walk - localized on leash sniffing to do their business.

SCENT WORK - turning their need to sniff into a specific task with rules and direction. The rules are up to you. Scatter a few treats. Hide a few high value treats. Let them sniff it from your hand and give them the treat. Tell them “SEEK UP” or just seek. Start this in your living room.

RELEASE - allows time you choose for peeing, marking, sniffing eachother and other dogs markings. Let the leash out long or drop it.

Lots of PRAISE!! “Good dogs and good jobs!” Treats if you use them. Make it tough for them. They need to learn to overcome obstacles and solve problems!

The direction of pressure and position of the slip lead is determined by what we need from the dog. This is skill. Watch that positioning and identify all the cues Cesar uses to help this beauty feel better, behave appropriately, and live a wonderful life.

Rollo and Bax biking with me like the confident pros they are! Reminds me to take them again tomorrow. We use no substitutes with something as potentially risky as hooking your dogs to a bike. But the USA made design recreates the feeling of an arm holding a leash. It’s brilliant. We’ve been using them since 2018.

So, Place is a temple. Train the command strong. Do not allow them to get off without permission. Give them many breaks. “Place” in the wild can be more important than a proofed and disciplined Down Stay.

Because we never call them from place. We point to the elevated position and 💥 that becomes the temple. No barking, no getting off. Ahhh… it relieves the burden from our dogs instincts and drives. Those can be exhausting. They appreciate the calmness of you handling the issues.

Putting them physically in front of you is a clear indicator you want defensive and prey drive. Which means you’re telling them to fight for and hunt for you. So the walk can easily become a hunt. It’s called leash reactivity but that’s not really accurate.

The relationship they have with ( #1) the leash, ( #2) the leader and ( #3) the environment is what makes the walk. So change the relationship and the dogs behavior changes. Then repeat. Creating more experiences and imprints with the outcome you created. Follow the same routines and keep them focused and positive and quiet. They can bark when they’re on release or free or break or whatever the command is to allow them fro break and do whatever they want…within the boundaries we set as a pack.

That’s what we see here. Rollo and I doing exhausted half hearted drills while Baxter Placed and then we switched.

Leaving the field because our dogs fight?!? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Umm, hard no. Is your “service dog” reactive? That’s not a service dog folks. It’s a pet with an attitude and behavior problems.

Ultimately dog owners are responsible for their dogs behavior. Train everyday!

Have an epic day with your dogs!

As Head of Technical Development and Training for Dawg Tec Im so grateful for Mo Mountain Mutts for her help with the Relay Harness.

The electric harness will change the way we work with dogs by relocating the contact points to the sides of the torso on our dogs.

So much work has gone into this product from many supporters and helpful trainers and dog owners!

Stay tuned for more info as we have big plans for the coming year!

These guys ❤️❤️ They play tug for hours.
All these moments are equally important to our relationship.

The best dog trainers in the world can’t create the relationship between you and your dog. That’s on you. We help bridge the gap.
