Paws Giving Independence NFP Saving a life to change a life. Our purpose is to train service/facility dogs and place them free of charge. Visit our website for more info!

Paws Giving Independence is run completely on public donations. We are unique because our service dogs are placed free of charge and we currently have no paid staff. That is why we need your help to keep our program running. Many of our dogs are all rescued from shelters but we need your support to pay for the vet bills and everyday care.

Our amazing college student trainers were featured on News 25 last night! 🐾❤️

Without our dedicated student trainers, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish all of the incredible training and socialization opportunities we’re able to provide to our dogs in training. Our student trainers at Illinois State University and Bradley University are truly amazing and play such an important role in helping these future service dogs succeed! 🎓🐕‍🦺

We are so proud of our students and grateful for the time, dedication, and love they put into raising and training these incredible dogs. ❤️

And they meet again 🫂❤️🐾

Service dog Gatsby and his handler had an unforgettable night once again at the Benson Boone concert! They even had the surprise of meeting Benson Boone himself again when he came off the tour bus to greet fans and he remembered Gatsby.

He obviously loves dogs. We may need to name a service dog after him. What do you think?

It sounds like it was yet another incredible concert and a night they'll never forget. Gatsby was absolutely thrilled to meet him again!

The museum provided such a fun and engaging environment for our dogs to practice their skills while exploring new sights, sounds, and experiences. Outings like these are an important part of preparing our future service dogs for the real world, and we are so grateful for the support.

Hi there🦮My name is Dallas. I am a 2 1/2 year old goldendoodle. I can’t believe it has almost been a year since graduating from PGI as a facility dog with my handler Molly. I have been busy this past year working at Way to Grow Pediatric Therapy! Not only do I put a smile on everyone’s face when they walk in, but I also assist with providing support, comfort, and love to all who enter! I help kids with transitions, sensory processing, ADL activities, and direction following. Phew…most days I am worn out and enjoy finding every comfy spot in the clinic! On my free time, I love playing, chasing squirrels, and going on walks with my family❤️Proud to be a PGI member❤️ Next up…my annual ADI test! Wish me luck🤞
