🏃 Steamboat Classic race activities will be taking place throughout Glen Oak Park on Saturday, June 6.

Peoria Zoo will be open and operating normal hours; however, race activity throughout the park may affect traffic flow and parking availability during the morning hours.

Guests are encouraged to allow extra time and follow all event signage and staff directions for safe and efficient parking.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you at the Zoo!

All aboard the Glen Oak Express! 🚂

Part of our FriYAY event series, the Glen Oak Express offers a relaxing ride through scenic Glen Oak Park every Friday night from now until Labor Day! 🌳✨

Whether you're spending the evening at the Zoo, exploring at the PlayHouse, or simply enjoying your Friday night in the park, the Glen Oak Express is a fun way to make the most of your summer night!

🎟️ Tickets are $3 per rider and must be purchased online while physically inside Glen Oak Park.
👉 Reserve your ride time as soon as you arrive, then explore the park and other FriYAY activities until it's time to board! Once you arrive, simply scan the QR code near the boarding area to purchase your tickets.
🚂 Rides begin at 5:00 PM and depart every 20 minutes throughout the evening.

FriYAYs are officially here! Every Friday all summer long, enjoy extended hours at BOTH Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum.

🏡 Peoria PlayHouse open until 6 PM
🦏 Peoria Zoo open until 8 PM (last entry at 7:30 PM)

Plus, on select Fridays (June 26, July 31, and August 14), the fun gets even bigger with Rec 'n Roll inside the Zoo featuring field games and hands-on maker activities led by the PlayHouse team!

Happy World Turtle Day! 🐢

Say hello to the Spotted Turtle (Clemmys guttata), one of North America's smallest turtles and a true freshwater gem. Its bright yellow spots are as unique as our fingerprints, making every turtle a little different!

This remarkable species depends on healthy wetlands and clean waterways to survive, but habitat loss and pollution continue to threaten wild populations.

At Peoria Zoo, we're proud to care for ambassador animals like the spotted turtle and inspire guests to help protect native wildlife and freshwater ecosystems. 🌱💧
