Hello my fellow rat lovers!

I am still closed for adoptions at this time. I do have pairings planned for each of my lines, and I am excited for things in my life to settle down so I can have the time for new litters.

I have had a lot of people reach out to ask about other ratteries in the area. I can highly recommend Fuzzy Peach Exotics-New in DeKalb! Healthy, wonderful rats, and a knowledgeable and honest person to work with. 10/10

You can also check out the rat rehoming groups/pages, but PLEASE be aware that these rats can potentially have illnesses and temperament issues that the people rehoming them may not even be aware of. If you are adding to an existing mischief, you need to properly quarantine your new rats in a separate air space for at least 4 weeks, and it’s always advised to take any new rats to a vet shortly after bringing them home. After quarantine, intros of new rats to your existing rats should be done slowly and closely supervised. It’s great to adopt rats in need, please don’t get me wrong! I just want you to be prepared to provide the appropriate care. I want good outcomes for the rats, and for you. And adopting from people who don’t know what they are doing (no matter how much they may insist that they do) means that you are not always getting good information.

Hello my fellow rat lovers!

I just wanted to say something real quick…

There are some ratteries or rat pages out there who post with the primary intention of driving engagement for their page, and not with the intention of bettering the hobby or the lives of the animals.

If you see a rattery posting pictures of them holding up a hugely pregnant momma rat with no support underneath her, or their rats interacting directly with a cat or dog, quite simply that is an uneducated and unethical breeder. Be wary of anything coming from pages like that, as they are likely to be full of misinformation. And please be wary of actually adopting from them.

Please remember that rats are small and delicate, and they are prey animals! Holding up a pregnant rat with no support underneath can cause injury to momma, and can cause the babies’ placentas to detach and unalive them. Cats and dogs should NEVER have direct contact with your rats, “accidents” can happen in a split second and any entertainment you derive from this type of interaction is not worth the animals’ lives and wellbeing. It’s not worth the risk, however small you think the risk is. I do not care how “well trained/behaved” you claim your cat or dog to be, I don’t care how many times you have done this without incident. As a pet owner, and especially as a breeder, you have a responsibility to the animals in your care that you should take very seriously. You should always be learning new information and striving to improve your husbandry of these wonderful little creatures.

I’ll never step off my soapbox about this. It’s fine to make rat content, it’s unconscionable to spread unsafe handling practices for content. Do better. 🖤🖤🖤

*Photo of my sweet girl 11, when she was hugely pregnant in 2022, for rat tax. Notice that I am lifting up her front half to show off the baby bump, and her bottom half is fully supported and sat on a soft towel. She ended up having 11 babies.

Hello my fellow rat lovers.

At this time, I have suspended adoptions. Events in my personal life have made it very difficult for me to keep up with all that goes in to coordinating adoptions.

I plan to resume adoptions later this year. I will make a post detailing my updated application process, and available rats at that time.

Thank you for your understanding.

hello my fellow rat lovers!

All of the boys that were old enough to go home have been picked up by their new families.

I still have several girls who are old enough to go home. I have two litters that were born at the end of November growing up, I have a lot of holdbacks in these litters but there will be a few available. I also had two large litters born this week!

I will be taking the next few days off from checking applications and responding to messages, and I’ll be back next week. 🖤🖤🖤

Hello fellow rat lovers!

I will be reviewing new applications and reaching out to people this weekend.

Currently I have pickups pending for 2 boys and 2 girls. I still have 2 boys who will be ready for home next weekend, and 6 girls who are ready for home now. I also have two more litters growing up, and pairings planned.

I have had a lot of people fill out applications who have yet to reply to my messages or send cage pictures. I am not going to chase you down, and I won’t “hold your place” on the waitlist if I don’t hear anything from you. Pickups are scheduled once I have pictures of your fully set up cage, as this lets me know you are ready to bring your rats home.

I have contacted everyone who has filled out an application.

Please keep in mind that I do require to see pictures of your fully set up cage before pickups are scheduled. If you have questions about caging and set up, don’t hesitate to ask!

I have also reached out to a few people inquiring about rats who have yet to fill out an application. Please fill out my application (pinned to the top of my page) and then you must message me to let me know that’s been done! I do not get any alert when an application is submitted!

I plan to get videos of available babies posted soon! I have a group of females ready for homes now, and a group of males ready in 2 weeks. As well as litters growing up.

Thank you all for your support and for the love of rats! 🖤🖤🖤

Hello my fellow rat lovers.

I have been dealing with a lot of things in my personal life and have not had time to get back to those inquiring to adopt. I plan to review applications and reach out to people this weekend. I’ll be scheduling pickups once I am over my current flu.

I have several babies ready to go to their new homes, and I have litters growing up now.

Bean spam for tax. 🖤🖤🖤
