August is also Itchy Pet Awareness month!

🤯 Do you have a pet that scratches constantly?
🤯 Does he /she itch year round or only certain times of the year?
🤯 Are you tired of waking in the middle of the night to that thumping noise from your dog or cat scratching themselves?
🤯 Does your pet have hair loss or sores from scratching so often?

How miserable are you when your allergies are acting up? Itchy eyes, runny nose, drainage! Cats and dogs don't always present this way (they certainly can, but not always). Typically they will scratch , scratch, scratch!! This can also lead to other medical conditions such as ear infections, skin infections, etc.

This week we will review a couple of our most effective allergy medications. 💉💊

National Check the Chip Day is celebrated annually on August 15th. This day serves as a reminder for pet owners to ensure their pet's microchip information is up to date and their beloved companions can be easily identified and returned home.

Last, but certainly not least, Bordetella is also one of our core vaccines! It is another vaccine for our canine friends!🐶🐾

The Bordetella vaccine, as most of us know, helps prevent against kennel cough. For those that don't know, kennel cough is an extremely contagious respiratory infection.

So, who should get a Bordetella vaccine? Any dogs that visit the following places:
📣 Doggie Daycare
📣 Boarding
📣 Grooming, bathing, or nail trim appointments
📣 Dog parks or dog beach
📣 Training
📣 Any public outings (shopping, restaurants, etc.)

While Bordetella does not 100% prevent dogs from contracting kennel cough, it very much lessens the chances. It also reduces the symptoms if your pet did happen to get kennel cough.
