Marcus had a big day today. ☘️🐾
Our little fighter joined the Bark of the Irish Parade at The Gulf and strutted his stuff in the adoptable dog parade with Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue.
From a tiny puppy who fought to survive his first days of life… to walking in a parade surrounded by people cheering him on — this boy has come so far. 💚
Marcus soaked up all the love, met so many wonderful people, and represented rescue dogs like the brave little ambassador he is.
Now he’s back home with his foster family, completely exhausted after a big adventure… snoring away and dreaming about his forever home. 💤🐶
Thank you to everyone who stopped to meet him and all of our other adoptable Danes today.
Marcus may be tired tonight, but his journey is just getting started.

Marcus Update 💙🐾
Marcus recently visited the cardiology team at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine after his vet detected a heart murmur.
The specialists confirmed a few congenital heart conditions, including tricuspid valve dysplasia and moderate subaortic stenosis. The good news is they are currently mild, and Marcus does not need medication or procedures at this time.
He will return for another echocardiogram in 8–10 months to monitor how his heart develops as he grows.
The cardiologist was more concerned about his breathing, but chest X-rays looked great. Our vet believes it may be a structural airway issue causing his snoring and “purring” sounds, so for now we will simply monitor.
For now, Marcus can continue living a happy normal puppy life with moderate activity.
Our little lone survivor keeps proving just how strong he is. 💙🐾

From 23 ounces and zero nutrients…
to 20 pounds and headed to the University of Florida for advanced cardiac care.
Marcus’ journey continues today.
We are so grateful for this community standing behind him.
We’re traveling today — appointments are tomorrow. This is just the beginning of his heart journey.
