Bless you, Opal.
Our last litter for the next 6ish weeks was born yesterday. In the afternoon. On a Sunday. When I didn’t have much on my schedule. What a treasure because it’s usually the middle of the night or during a pre-planned activity. Appreciate it, Opal girl!
Also, what a smooth, easy, and quick delivery! Opal only had 6 puppies this litter, but it was a textbook delivery, and for that I am also thankful. Since it wasn’t her first rodeo, this girl was a seasoned professional, and I honestly think Opal could have a litter successfully without my assistance. She’s a true gem of a dog, and fun fact: She and June (Mom of the Summer Litter born 5 days ago) are sisters! They’re not from the same litter, but they share the same Mom, Georgia, who is one of our Golden Retrievers. All 3 of these ladies are the absolute best dogs! They pass those traits right on to their puppies too!
These puppies will be ready to go home around August 13-15. They’re considered small standards (June’s are mediums) and will be about 45-50 pounds full grown. Both litters are F1Bs. Litter theme is still undecided, but I’m leaning pretty heavily towards a fun one! Get ready!
