We love getting updates like this! Eight weeks ago Molly and her puppies needed a little extra help when they made their arrival by emergency C-section. Fast forward, and mom is doing well and these little ones have turned into fluffy bundles of energy and personality. It’s nice to see patients come back healthy and thriving.

Well puppy check-ups for Molly’s babies today! We’d like to give a big shoutout to Dr. Yoder and Dr. Hooyer at Tri County Veterinary Clinic. We appreciate them so much! Molly needed a C-section, and they did an excellent job caring for both Molly and her puppies. We’re so thankful for the great care and compassion they showed our sweet girl and her babies. 🐶💕

April is Heartworm Awareness & Lyme Disease Prevention Month!

As temperatures rise above ~40°F in Iowa, mosquitoes and ticks become active, increasing the risk of disease in dogs and cats.

❤️ Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes and allows worms to develop in the heart and pulmonary vessels, leading to lung disease, heart failure, and potentially death if untreated.
🕷️ Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses can cause fever, lameness, joint pain, kidney complications, and chronic health issues.

Both conditions are much easier to prevent than treat:
✔️ Year-round heartworm prevention (monthly)
✔️ Consistent tick prevention
✔️ Routine screening and prompt removal of ticks

Contact us if you’d like to review your pet’s prevention plan this spring.

Spring Horse Vaccination Routes – March 23 to April 3

We will again be traveling to farms to vaccinate horses and other equines from March 23 through April 3.

Spring is the ideal time to vaccinate horses so immunity is in place before increased insect activity, travel, shows, and warmer weather.

Vaccinations will be scheduled by regional routes.

Please call the office by March 9 to be included. After March 9, we will organize routes based on location and daily availability and then contact you with a planned date and time for your farm.

When calling, please be prepared to provide:
-The address where the horses are located
-The number of equines needing vaccinated
-Any preferred times or availability

We will do our best to accommodate schedules.

If you would like additional services completed while we are there, please let us know when scheduling so we can have supplies available. Additional services may include deworming, sheath cleaning, Coggins testing, and teeth floating, etc.

Feel free to share this post with other horse owners to help spread the word.

Enjoy a few photos from our team’s well-earned night out. Bonus photo evidence of Kathy riding the Zamboni included. Go Wild!
