Rabies is rare-but deadly. Once symptoms appear, it's almost always fatal, yet it's 100% preventable with prompt treatment.
It spreads through saliva from bites or scratches, even small ones, and can come from dogs, cats, bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes. Symptoms may take weeks or months to show, which is why people delay care-and that can be deadly.
If bitten or scratched:
Wash the wound immediately
Seek medical care right away
Vaccinate pets, avoid wild animals, and take every bite seriously. Awareness saves lives.
